Pate-keetongu Posted October 9, 2010 Posted October 9, 2010 (edited) Here's my newest MOC, superhero Nite Owl II's flying Owlship vehicle from Watchmen graphic novel by Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons. I started making this MOC about an half year ago. I made a little diorama/vignette about the bottom of the river where Nite Owl hide his ship in the chapter 10. Side hatch opens. Interior. The hoverbikes can be seen on the left. Back of the interior. Closed with the sliding door and snowsuit can be seen here. Back of the ship. There is a small top hatch and the roof can be removed. Brickshelf Gallery Comments&critism welcome. PS. I'm not sure does this belong to Sci-fi or Licensed forum. Please move this if I but this to wrong forum! Edited October 10, 2010 by pig Quote
Bingo Little Posted October 9, 2010 Posted October 9, 2010 Oh wow, that looks amazing. Lovely exterior and interior, as well as a good riverbed feel - is there any chance we could see the figures better? Quote
Decale Posted October 9, 2010 Posted October 9, 2010 Wow man your Archie is very well done! Proportions are perfect, the shape makes unmistakably the Archie of the comic and movie. You added just the touch of necessary details. I'd love to see other Watchmen MOCs, but actually I can't see what else can be done in lego Nice job, I'm a conformist!! Quote
Pate-keetongu Posted October 10, 2010 Author Posted October 10, 2010 Thanks, Decale and Bingo Little! is there any chance we could see the figures better? You're welcome. Rorschach's face is custom and Dr.Manhattan is edited, but otherwise these are purist. Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted October 10, 2010 Posted October 10, 2010 I'm not that familiar with Watchmen but your Owlship sure does looks very interesting and a well-executed build. Your custom figs are winners as well. Great job! Quote
lincolnwho Posted October 10, 2010 Posted October 10, 2010 Thanks, Decale and Bingo Little! You're welcome. Rorschach's face is custom and Dr.Manhattan is edited, but otherwise these are purist. Love these and your ship , great work Quote
Legostein Posted October 10, 2010 Posted October 10, 2010 Hello! It's clearly an owl, and it looks pretty! The colours have the correct scheme, and also the interior is nice layed-out. Cheers, ~ Christopher Quote
Big Cam Posted October 11, 2010 Posted October 11, 2010 I loved this movie and you nailed the ship. Really cool. Also Dr. Manhattan looks awesome, I know the color is fake, but still. Quote
Bingo Little Posted October 14, 2010 Posted October 14, 2010 Lovely figures, especially the doc manhattan - and nice custom job on the rorshach face! I'd never have thought of using the crash test dummy for the doc, though. it's about the closes to the hydrogen symbol one could get. Quote
Masked Builder Posted October 14, 2010 Posted October 14, 2010 While I'm not acquainted with watchmen it looks pretty accurate! Quote
Brainbox Posted October 14, 2010 Posted October 14, 2010 Eh, I thought Watchmen was a bit overrated. But then, I think the same of Alan Moore... Your Owlship, however, is not overrated. In fact, it's really rather nice. It looks exactly like ol' Archie, and much as I'm a bit unfazed by the rest of Watchmen, I do quite like Nite Owl and Archie. Good job, my friend! Quote
Walter Kovacs Posted October 14, 2010 Posted October 14, 2010 ARchie looks spot on. Every detail looks accurate from what I remember of the comics. That being said, I LOVE THAT RORSCHACH! Would you mind if I copied it and made him my sigfig? It would only be appropriate. Quote
Mrlegoninja Posted October 15, 2010 Posted October 15, 2010 This MOC is amazing! And that figure is really great too! Quote
Pate-keetongu Posted October 15, 2010 Author Posted October 15, 2010 Thanks everyone! That being said, I LOVE THAT RORSCHACH! Would you mind if I copied it and made him my sigfig? It would only be appropriate. Hurm, go ahead. Quote
-zenn Posted October 15, 2010 Posted October 15, 2010 I'm not such a fan of the movie, so it's okay. But your avatar gave me a good laugh. Quote
Leo-J Posted October 15, 2010 Posted October 15, 2010 Very nice MOC! The interior work is really cool! Quote
