Thanks for the comments 'prateek'......ah, beds....yeah, out the back you can't see them...in a bit of state. The local footy team were on a bender, just a little messy, like a tv though the window, etc,. you know the usual end-of-season stuff.

Actaully to tell the truth, I was going to make the upstairs the bedrooms, but decided after making that lounge area, that a dinning room would be better.

Anyway, many Aussie pubs don't offer rooms for night, alot just offer food and of course, drink......some the humble PubTAB and even the evil one-armed bandits !

Keep on drinking.....but not too much !

Oh, I will keep on drinking. Too much.

Looks good, but it really needs some beds.

Thanks for comments 'Mrlegoninja' - if this was a large modular build then yes, bedrooms would be in here.....but since this is a classic open back, sorry no......but, yes another but, my truck stop might include a motel !

Hi, oh wow, this is such a great moc! I love it. How do you collect all the furniture and special pieces? All from existing sets and bricklink? I'm looking forward to see more of where that came from :classic:

The furniture is all my own creation, yep....MOC's.....these are inspired by art deco style furniture of the 1930's and I think I have the colours right too.

Thank you 'uitzetter' for your kind words.....I'm a conformist! ! :sweet:

This looks great, your MOC's are always packed full of details, but in a modern 'classic' style. I particularly like the SNOT dark red buffet dresser, that has a really nice look to it, and is positioned perfectly hanging from the wall. One small question though, the bar area is well designed, the draft taps look great, but maybe instead of using white tap pieces for the optics (dispense spirit measures), would black look better?

Very nice MOC LightningTiger. I love all the details on it but i see a small problem. If this is a hotel, there should be bedrooms right? So... where doess the peapole sleep? On the floor or on the street? But it still is a very nice MOC.

Thanks for comments and suggestions 'mikey' and 'Captain Becker', I'll look at the spirit rack today and see how black or even red (I have seen a red rack in a pub only the other day) - post fresh pic's if it looks good.

Now to sleep, yes sleep......well they'll have to wait until the motel at the truck stop opens.....they can walk off the booze walking or stumbling to the motel !

I'm a conformist! everyone ! :sweet:

No new pictures today, but I will tell you I have changed the spirit rack to look a little like the one I saw in a pub last week and I have started on the outside with a side gate, pathways and green grassed areas.....easier to clean off you know what off grass !

Fresh pictures tomorrow fingers crossed.....so keep on watching ! :sweet:

Brilliant stuff!! Love all the little details (especially the ceiling fan!!) As for the lack of beds, it doesn't bother me. Where I live there are quite a few pubs with "hotel" in their name but don't have any accommodation. (A situation that still causes confusion when foreign visitors see the word Hotel and expect it to provide lodging!!) A quick google shows that is is pretty common... either the original pub/inn did provide lodging and the name stuck, or it was an attempt to make the pub sound as though it had a bit of history to it or it was done to get around licensing laws (for example, up until the 1970's in Scotland, only hotels could serve alcohol on Sundays ) Anyway looking forward to seeing what you come up with next!!!

Thanks 'greg3' for your kond words, interesting to read about liquor laws in the U.K. back then......don't worry up until the 1970's, we had six o'clock closing and only places serving food could sell booze after 6 at night. Glad those days are over !

Watch out for updates tomorrow and keep on...... :sweet:

Finally, the build is over on my hotel......might just have some stickering left, but the build is done....whew !

Great to finally see the finished product! I love the serene simplicity of the exterior, and the details inside are just perfect for a cozy interior atmosphere fit for a hotel. Gotta love all those amenities - lounge sofa, pub area, flat-screen TV - all great stuff! Great work as always lightningtiger, keep it up! default_thumbup.gif

An awesome looking pub!!! I'd love to hang out there if I was a minifig!! I love all the little details, especially inside (I can tell you've done a lot of research inside pubs!!) The only suggestion I might make is that I think it needs a sign on the front though.

Anyway can't wait to see what you come up with next....

You are right 'greg3'.....I need a sign out the front, it will be done before this comming Tuesday !
