soc399 Posted October 8, 2010 Posted October 8, 2010 My experience is that Lego Stores sometimes have stuff that has sold out on SAH, but it's a matter of luck. The retail stores can ship to you, so you might just try calling a bunch of them and asking about the set you want.

I found a Lego store in California that would ship to me, but the one that's closest to where I live (3 hrs) neither ships nor hold for more than 12 hours. Call around to see what you can find.

I didn't realize lego stores would ship items. Actually, you can get sets before anyone else does. I was in a lego store when I asked if they had any (new) sets. But the employee said that right when they got on shelves, I would be shipped one without shipping charge!

Called about 15 stores and nuthin at any of em. Went to order it from targets site and I guess they sold through them :-( Ended up getting on on ebay tho for $49 plus shipping. They are a scammer site, the do false advertising. I think your just gonna get instructions!

WHat I did was a google search for that set and it came up and the title is "Lego Power Miner Set 8958 "Granite Grinder" from 2009", so yes, i assumed it was the set. I just called and left a message and am gonna email them too. I haven't gotten a shipping notice yet so I hope it isn't too late. Thanks for the heads up guys.
