sens1992 Posted October 5, 2010 Posted October 5, 2010 (edited) This is a hotel I have built in two days. I had to come up with curtains so I would not get too much reflection when taking photos. I know that the curtains are not made of LEGO (sorry)... I may finish one room on the top floor so we can take a look at the interior of the building but as of now, the inside is empty. I know that the building is a little bit thin but I used pretty much all of the beige bricks I had, so there was no way I could make it wider!!! With that said, I am tired and I am heading to my room on the top floor!!! You can see more photos right here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/45260367@N08/sets/72157624978574687/with/5055501412/ Edited October 5, 2010 by sens1992 Quote
prateek Posted October 5, 2010 Posted October 5, 2010 Very cool! You got the architecture perfect. It looks just like a real Marriot! BTW, did you make this on LDD? Quote
Mrlegoninja Posted October 5, 2010 Posted October 5, 2010 Looks great! A little more detail would be nice though. I wonder what it will look like when the interior is finished. Nice work. Keep it up! Quote
Big Cam Posted October 5, 2010 Posted October 5, 2010 Holy Cow, that looks exactly like a real hotel. I've never seen one so identical to the real thing, which unfortunetaly is bland, but you did nail the copy almost to the T. Quote
sens1992 Posted October 5, 2010 Author Posted October 5, 2010 Thanks prateek, Mrlegoninja and Big Cam for your comments! I wanted my hotel to look like a real one even if the architecture can be boring... Also, prateek, I did not make it on LDD, sorry! Quote
lightningtiger Posted October 5, 2010 Posted October 5, 2010 EXCELLENT 'sens1992' - a spot on Marriot hotel, true a bit plain, but aren't they all ? Now an interior with a lift and fire escape.......rooms with a bed and ensuite toliet, basin and shower....maybe the odd spa bath. Oh man, now you have got me thinking......guess ? Great work 'sens1992' and I'm a conformist! ! Quote
sens1992 Posted October 5, 2010 Author Posted October 5, 2010 Thanks for your kind comments Lightningtiger! I wish I could put everything you listed in my hotel but I would run out of room quickly! It is pretty narrow, that is why I am kind of limited but still wanna build one suite! thanks again! Quote
lightningtiger Posted October 5, 2010 Posted October 5, 2010 Well, may I suggest 3 rooms per floor, except for the top is the penthouse with a rock star trashing it ! I'm a conformist! 'sens1992' ! Quote
tulatin Posted October 6, 2010 Posted October 6, 2010 It looks great dude, and I love your attention to detail - especially the bollards protecting the canopy. Quote
bricked one Posted October 6, 2010 Posted October 6, 2010 Nice hotel "sens1992"! I really like the curtains, too bad there not lego. Quote
Still Raindrop Posted October 6, 2010 Posted October 6, 2010 Excellent! You really do have it spot-on. I think it's good that you didn't embellish it with lots of details; they would have ruined the likeness, I think. Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted October 6, 2010 Posted October 6, 2010 Very nice hotel MOC sens1992! I actually like the simple but highly accurate build of that Marriot hotel - it really looks like the real one! And very unique curtain details. Great job! Quote
sens1992 Posted October 6, 2010 Author Posted October 6, 2010 Thanks bricked one, Mariko and KielDaMan for your kind comments! Quote
Klaus-Dieter Posted October 7, 2010 Posted October 7, 2010 That's an amazing City MOC, sens1992! I really it! It looks very realistic. The only thing which is strange is that the windows aren't transparent. Plus I miss the interior. Where is it? Has it got even one? Otherwise it's great. Very well done! A hotel is one of the buildings TLG should really release as a City (not CC-styled) set! Klaus-Dieter Quote
AMK152 Posted October 7, 2010 Posted October 7, 2010 Cool hotel... I really like the entry way. Quote
Zorbas Posted October 7, 2010 Posted October 7, 2010 Beautiful work sens. Clean and simple lines and nice colours along with a beautifully created entrance. I too wonder, is there any interior that we could see? Quote
sens1992 Posted October 7, 2010 Author Posted October 7, 2010 Thanks Klaus-Dieter for your kind comments. The windows have non-lego curtains that I have made so you can't see the interior since the hotel has nothing on the inside... I may finish one room on the top floor and have a removable roof so one could take a peak on the inside. I agree that LEGO should have a hotel in their city lineup... Thanks AMK152 for your comment. Thanks also Zorbas for your nice compliments. Like I said above, there is no interior, YET lol! Quote
Darth Jar Jar Posted October 8, 2010 Posted October 8, 2010 Wow this looks exactly like the marriot hotel I stayed in great MOC Quote
