GeneralTalon Posted October 2, 2010 Posted October 2, 2010 (edited) This is a castle i have been working on for awhile, still needs considerable work. Any suggestions are welcome as i don't really have any great ideas for the buildings. The castle, i was going to put buildings in the two spots on the upper level. Back view. A secret door These are just some quick pictures so the lighting isn't very good. Edited October 2, 2010 by GeneralTalon Quote

Eskallon Posted October 2, 2010 Posted October 2, 2010 Those arches look amazing, but I need to say this: It looks too blocky and very cramped which makes the MOC lose its potential, you need to take the existing walls and form a line and create an open planned city with texture and style. I think then it would become more of a town than a smallish fort. That is what I will do but If you continue it can still turn out good and I look forward to the end result. Quote
BrickArtist Posted November 3, 2010 Posted November 3, 2010 Very nice! I like the simple wall pattern, and the use of the uprising baseplate. I think it might be cool to incorporate some mmv looking buildings into the stone architecture. Looks great! Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted November 3, 2010 Posted November 3, 2010 That is already a great start for your planned castle town MOC General Talon. I'm not much of a castle expert, but you might want to look at other castle creations for some inspiration on what you could further add to your initial build. Pls. do keep us updated with this. Derfel Cadarn Posted November 3, 2010 Posted November 3, 2010 You are off to a good start, and the arches look nice. My advice would be to maybe add a bit more texture to the grey walls by adding some more different shades of grey here and there. Also, as allready mentioned, you could change the shape to make it a little less blocky and give it more character. But, its still a wip, so you can carry on tweaking it till you're happy with the design. Keep building, and I look forward to seeing the finished result Quote
Big Cam Posted November 3, 2010 Posted November 3, 2010 Looks like it's going to be a pretty impressive Castle. Keep us posted. Quote
Angeli Posted November 10, 2010 Posted November 10, 2010 I can not wait to see in what it will grow :) Quote
