Alywin Posted October 2, 2010 Posted October 2, 2010 (edited) To join a MOCers party held by TLC in Hong Kong, I made this to share with friends. This small pig farm consists of a wooden shed for the pigs to live, and a farm workshop. As a pig shed, naturally it should be simple, but to make not too dull, I built the top roof of the shed using a less traditional way while keeping a "wooden" feel. For the farm workshop, the ground floor is supposed to be the working and storage space with simple equipments, while the upper floor is the resting room for farmers. Between the shed and the workshop, there is a wooden door to allow passage. Also, a wooden staircase is built for farmers to climb up to the upper floor. To enhance the flavour of being a farm, I have added the "PIG" logo by adding up simple building blocks, and also the "rooster anemoscope". In addition, to enrich the content of the pig farm, I have built the mini pig transporter. The special thing of this small vehicle is the using of a rear chassis of a normal LEGO tricycle to build the front part of the vehicle. It also has the liftable platform at the rear part to allow pigs to go up and down. More photos at my Brickshelf: Pig farm -Pig farm Mini pig transporter - Mini pig transporter So this is a small farm without too much details, but I still hope you enjoy it. Also, I shall be grateful if you would share with me your comments, positive and negative. Thanks. Edited October 3, 2010 by Alywin Quote
Big Cam Posted October 2, 2010 Posted October 2, 2010 I think it works really well. It looks like you would think a farm does, and I ahve even been to a pig farm, and this is pretty close. Great MOC! Quote
bricked one Posted October 2, 2010 Posted October 2, 2010 Much better than the TLG set! looks very nice "Alywin" Quote
The Yellow Brick Posted October 2, 2010 Posted October 2, 2010 (edited) This is Farmtastic The Tractor is just amazing. Edited October 2, 2010 by The Red Brick Quote
lightningtiger Posted October 2, 2010 Posted October 2, 2010 Great work 'Alywin', but could you resize your pictures please. Cute blue and white tractor vehicle and really nice outdoor shelter. I'm a conformist! 'Alywin' I'm a conformist! ! Quote
Zorbas Posted October 2, 2010 Posted October 2, 2010 Very beautiful creation Alywin. You've made a nice colour selection and the design looks good. Adding trees and flowers definitely made the scenery better. I particularly like the pig transporter because it doesn't look like common LEGO vehicles. Good job! Quote
dr_spock Posted October 2, 2010 Posted October 2, 2010 Well done. It looks great. Maybe you can supply the pigs for Benny's slaughter house MOC. Quote
sens1992 Posted October 2, 2010 Posted October 2, 2010 Wow! What a fantastic creation! I really love what you did here! Quote
prateek Posted October 2, 2010 Posted October 2, 2010 (edited) Awesome! The pig sty is very nicely done, and the tractor is unusual, but really cool too. The exterior of the building is good, as is the interior Edited October 2, 2010 by prateek Quote
The Soup Nazi Posted October 2, 2010 Posted October 2, 2010 I like the weather vane... simple yet effective! Nice job! Quote
Legostein Posted October 2, 2010 Posted October 2, 2010 Hello! Besides the very large images which could use a resizing this is a nice scenery. The roof of the shed is a clever construction, but I am also fond of the simple and clever solution for the door of the fence by using the bar. Cheers, ~ Christopher Quote
Alywin Posted October 3, 2010 Author Posted October 3, 2010 Thanks all for the support. I built this in a way pretty much similar to the old days of LEGOLAND, and so it is inclined to be simple. For the pig transporter, it is rather unusual because of the use of the tricycle part, but it allows me to build it in a much lighter way. I myself also enjoys this small vehicle. Sorry for the size of the photos, but I find I cannot use the command ,etc. in this forum... Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted October 3, 2010 Posted October 3, 2010 Very nicely done Alywin! Your Pig Farm is a hundred times better than TLG's version. Great looking exterior and the pig transporter is well-built too. Quote
KyleJohnson11 Posted October 3, 2010 Posted October 3, 2010 Very cool Pig farm! I really like how you've used the tricycle parts to create the tractor. I did notice on the outside hold for the pigs there is no space for food. Real little suggestion, maybe put something similar as to under the shelter in the outside hold? Again, very cool MOC! Quote
