Oky Posted October 1, 2010 Posted October 1, 2010 It was an average day in Gotham City. Bob, a teller at the Gotham City Bank, had struggled through another uneventful day. He was new in town and had just started his job at the bank this week, but he was already getting bored. He did not understand why nobody else applied for the job even though it's payed well. It was getting close to closing time, so Bob was getting ready to leave. But suddenly, one last customer entered the bank. He wore a purple suit and a purple fedora that covered most of his face. He approached Bob with confident steps. Bob walked toward the stranger and asked: "Hello, how may I help you?" Purple-Suited Stranger: "Good evening, my good man! I'd like to withdraw 1 million dollars!" Bob: "Oh, uh... From which account, Sir?" Stranger: "All of them." Bob: "What is this? Some kinda joke?" Stranger: "Precisely! But I don't see you laughing. Perhaps you will get the joke if you take a look at the flower on my jacket." In that moment, some kind of gas squirted out of the flower into Bob's face, and suddenly he had the strange urge to laugh. He laughed and laughed, and couldn't stop. He fell to the floor and continued to laugh his heart out. The Stranger lifted his fedora to reveal his chalk-white face. It was the Joker! The Joker gazed upon his victim and said: "Now that's what I call service with a smile! I should visit this bank more often! HAHAHAHAHA! Harley, get in here, we have work to do!" Harley Quinn: "Coming, Puddin'!" With Bob lying on the floor laughing, the two were able to rob the bank without interuption. Joker: "How are you doing with that safe, Harley?" Harley: "A-okay, Mr. J! (Puff! Gasp!)" But look what pointy-eared figure is getting ready to crash through the rooflight! That's right, it's Gotham's Dark Knight! Looks like Joker and Harley are in for a bad surprise! An overview of the whole vignette: You can find hi-res versions of these pics, as well as less grainy versions of them on a white background in this brickshelf folder. I hope you enjoyed this little vig. To the Okymobile! Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted October 1, 2010 Posted October 1, 2010 Very clever use of the mime's happy face! Captures the desired effect perfectly. Nice job Oky! Quote
ADHO15 Posted October 1, 2010 Posted October 1, 2010 (edited) Brilliant MOC, Oky! The vignette is very nicely detailed and the story is hilarious. You captured the Joker's mannerisms perfectly! I find it strange that a bank holding one million dollars is guarded only by one teller, and a new one at that! You could also do to turn all three windows round if they're inside. Good job! Batbrick Posted October 1, 2010 Posted October 1, 2010 Fantastic job Oky, you've done justice to the Batmythos here and I give my seal of Batbrick approval! I love the portrayal of Joker and Harley here, the 1 million dollars line is certainly something he would say. Excellent use of the mime's face there, and the minifigs are positioned perfectly! I hope Bob is okay though.... To the Brickmobile, to race the Okymobile! Quote
BearHeart Posted October 1, 2010 Posted October 1, 2010 Nice Moc, but if that's the interior of the bank then shouldn't the BANK signs on the windows be backwards (facing out) . Sorry, just nitpicking. Quote
lightningtiger Posted October 1, 2010 Posted October 1, 2010 AWESOME vig 'Oky Wan' - those collectable minifig parts come in real handy eh ? Great using that old western bank gear there too and I'm a conformist! as well ! Quote
Leo-J Posted October 1, 2010 Posted October 1, 2010 Amazing vig! Well-depicted! What a lovely smile on Bob! ... In other news, the title caught my attention 'coz I thought it has something to do with a quote from Kung Fu Panda. Quote
Brainbox Posted October 1, 2010 Posted October 1, 2010 Ah, it never occured to me that the mime head could work for something Joker-themed, nice idea! Nice moody shot looking up through the roof window at ol' Bats as well, great work! Quote
Legostein Posted October 2, 2010 Posted October 2, 2010 Hello! From the first image you would not have expected the building being so tall. The facade looks really nice, especially with those small prize cups from the new minifigure series. Cheers, ~ Christopher Quote
prateek Posted October 2, 2010 Posted October 2, 2010 Very clever use of the mime's happy face! Captures the desired effect perfectly. Nice job Oky! Ditto! Great job Quote
Professor Flitwick Posted October 2, 2010 Posted October 2, 2010 What a wonderful balance of brilliance (the entire set) and tragedy (poor Bob )! I like the use of the Karate mans statues in the wall/arch. Quote
The Penguin Posted October 3, 2010 Posted October 3, 2010 Again, I'm the last to notica a Bat-MOC! ) Well-done, Oky! A very neat small vig with some classicl action scene. Though I feel a bit sorry for Joker. I know what will happen in some time with him, since he's been spotter by Bats! Good day, ladies and gentlemen! ) Quote
Mr Spielbrick Posted October 3, 2010 Posted October 3, 2010 Oooh, so clever! The design of the building itself, the dialogue and then the use of that face! That is so cool. Really creepy. Very, very well thought out. Quote
Primusman Posted October 4, 2010 Posted October 4, 2010 Clever little story. I love the moc, it really captures the overall feel of the Dark Knight. Especially love the rooftop. I don't know what it is, but I just love tall vignettes. Overall, excellent job! Quote
VenVoi Posted October 5, 2010 Posted October 5, 2010 Very nice job! As aforementioned, I love your use of the Mime head. And I also like how you used Brick Daddy's(I believe) fedora for Joker. Keep up the good work! Quote
