dolittle Posted September 29, 2010 Posted September 29, 2010 Hi, After some time of having the off-roader built, and my son (3 years old) playing with it, I decided to give the B-Model a try. Here are my thoughts: 1) It is a much simpler build - takes a lot less steps as well as requires a lot less complex parts 2) Much simpler functionality - brings up the hood of the car, and takes it down + lights 3) More robust than the off-loader - less parts come off when played by my son I think it is a better version than the off-loader - less functionality here makes the model nicer to handle at the hands of my son - less likely to push a button while driving it with his hands Small modification on the steering wheel, change the order of the nob and the cog so that the nob is on top of the cog and not the other way around (see step 19 in the first PDF file) Side note, the colors in the PDF makes it very hard to understand when it is gray, dark gray and black... I wish they made it more clear somehow. Thanks, Noam Quote

I however still prefer the main model because it has more functionality! It all depends on what your personal requirements/preferences are ;) I do think that the B-Model does look nice but it is severely gimped in comparison to the main model. Perhaps TLG should give grohl a copy and see how many awesome B-Models he can pump out of it Side note, the colors in the PDF makes it very hard to understand when it is gray, dark gray and black... Well one way would be to give us hardcopy instructions again If you have a look in this topic you can see my and many other complaints regarding releasing B-Model instructions in pdf format. Quote

A simple method of providing "color blind" people the ability to build would be to tag the elements in some way, for example write their code? or just write under it drkgry or black, etc... Quote
