Besides ChromeBricks, there's another Bricklink store that can apply CHROME to any Lego ABS part that you send them: http://www.bricklink.com/store.asp?p=bricks4all . Click on their "Splash" page for details on how that works. Has any AFOLs in The Netherlands tried them out? One could get some SHARP-LOOKING wheel covers, rims, and other parts for your Technic or Model Team MOC....

The bricks sold at "bricks4all" are being chromed through AFOL "Bricksonwheels" famous for models like these:

These chrome bricks are chromed in a totally different way from the way the bricks at "Chromebricks" are being chromed, which resuls in a even shinier (extremely high reflection, as chrome should be) chrome layer of a better quality. I've had chrome parts in hand from both "bricks4all" (Bricksonwheels) and "Chromebricks" and personally I prefer the ones available at "bricks4all".

are these prone to discolor/chip? I understand that nothing lasts "forever" but I am really curious as to how these are compared from LEGO chrome parts where it seems to be "brittle." Based on the picture, it seems to be better than what LEGO offers but you never know until you use them.

It should be noted, however, that bricks chromed in regular way match those chromed originally by Lego. It's impossible to tell the custom-chromed bricks I got from Chrome Block City from the original Lego chrome bricks. Which is probably not the case with shinier bricks, impressive as they appear.

For me the chroming is just a hobby for my moc's. Bricks4all offers the stuff basically on stock items. What both he and me will not do is offer parts in chrome that are also availlable as genuine Lego parts. It is purely for the freak that wants to give his moc an extra touch. I agree with Dryw that the quality is really high.

For me I don't care about the color, it just has to look real :classic:

The strange thing is though that some parts that can technically really not be chromed (metallized), are still featured as truly chromed on some shops, and that feels more like some kind of paintjob then actual chrome.
