Seluryar Posted September 21, 2010 Posted September 21, 2010 just got done with building the alternate model for Mobile Crane 8053 i really love the latching thingy that attaches to the included cargo. i may keep this model sitting around for now until i can come up with something to do with pieces from this set as this is the only lego set i currently own Quote
DLuders Posted September 21, 2010 Posted September 21, 2010 A lot of folks never get around to building the 8053 alternates. It looks like it can lift a lot of weight. Thanks for sharing! Quote
Plastic Nurak Posted September 21, 2010 Posted September 21, 2010 (edited) If I buy #8053 it's only for alternate model. Edited September 21, 2010 by Plastic Nurak Quote

dolittle Posted September 23, 2010 Posted September 23, 2010 My son really loves this model, as opposed to the A-model, this model offers a crane, a "real" one, which can lift stuff, the A-model is more of a car, and is very difficult to lift things with as it constantly moves. I replaced the wheels of this model with flat platforms, so that it won't move around while playing. Quote
Plastic Nurak Posted September 23, 2010 Posted September 23, 2010 Now I've see the vid I can say: it's so beautiful . Thank you very much, Seluryar! Quote
kostasm13 Posted September 23, 2010 Posted September 23, 2010 The B-model is so cool! I have the 8421 Mobile Crane, so I wasn't planning to buy a similar set. But the Harbor Crane is so different and unique. Quote
Jetro Posted September 23, 2010 Posted September 23, 2010 The video stops just when it gets really interesting: I'd love to see the functions it has and how they work. Never mind, I'll have to build it myself Quote

Finished mine today and I was ... well, disappointed is a big word, but it certainly can't take a lot of weight. The rack with the four tyres already puts a lot of stress on the turntable. The model really needs a counterweight! Quote
lcs Posted September 25, 2010 Posted September 25, 2010 This looks to be a pretty interesting B model, I will have to try it out. Thanks! Quote
