Brickdoctor Posted September 21, 2010 Posted September 21, 2010 One of the benefits of sorting your LEGO is that you find all kinds of old bricks you were looking for. While sorting mine, I finally found those yellow jet engines that I wanted to use for collumns, and this is what resulted. It's based on the free PaB Winter Box from 2009. Finished September 2010, you can see it on Flickr but there aren't any more pics. The MOC looks terrible, IMO, when viewed from any other angle. You might not be able to see it, but the toys in the windows are printed on the inside of the free box. C&C welcome, thanks for looking! Quote
Baylego Posted September 21, 2010 Posted September 21, 2010 Nice! I knew I wasn't the only person to notice the toys inside the box! Otherwise, nice simple MOC. Quote
Brickdoctor Posted September 21, 2010 Author Posted September 21, 2010 Nice! I knew I wasn't the only person to notice the toys inside the box! Otherwise, nice simple MOC. Thanks. This wasn't exactly simple to build in terms of figuring out how to build it, given the extremely low amount of various yellow bricks I have, but I got the job done. Quote
prateek Posted September 21, 2010 Posted September 21, 2010 Awesome! It's funny because the box has the exact design as those engine pieces! Great job Quote
lightningtiger Posted September 21, 2010 Posted September 21, 2010 AWESOME piece of designing there 'Brickdoctor' - so close they are and 'prateek' is right those engine pieces do look like the one on the right ! Great work again from you 'Brickdoctor' and I'm a conformist! ! Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted September 21, 2010 Posted September 21, 2010 Very clever use of the engines for the columns Doc, the end result is very effective, looks just like the one in the box. Quote
Brickdoctor Posted September 22, 2010 Author Posted September 22, 2010 Thanks everyone. The engine/columns are the whole reason I built this in the first place. Quote
ThatGuyWithTheBricks Posted September 22, 2010 Posted September 22, 2010 Cool! Love how you used an engine for the column/curtain. Quote
Masked Builder Posted September 22, 2010 Posted September 22, 2010 Cool! Love how you used an engine for the column/curtain. I like them too! Great work Brickdoctor. Quote
Brickdoctor Posted September 23, 2010 Author Posted September 23, 2010 Cool! Love how you used an engine for the column/curtain. Seems like that's everyone's focus... Thanks! Quote
MetroiD Posted September 23, 2010 Posted September 23, 2010 Seems like that's everyone's focus... Well it really is a rather ingenious touch, so I guess it's natural :] Kudos on the sweet design - are you planning on using this as actual interior? Quote
CarrollFilms Posted September 24, 2010 Posted September 24, 2010 This is so cute and cool, you should really make a building with this part with it. Quote
peterab Posted September 24, 2010 Posted September 24, 2010 Thanks everyone. The engine/columns are the whole reason I built this in the first place. Each time I look at this I think the columns are a great match for the box, but the yellow crystals could have been replaced with the 1x4 brown tiles with the Viking markings on them. They would be a much better match for the box. Still it's a nice little MOC. Quote

Well it really is a rather ingenious touch, so I guess it's natural :] Kudos on the sweet design - are you planning on using this as actual interior? Unfortunately not. I've used up almost all the good yellow pieces to continue the color scheme, and the model's using brown pieces that I want to put back into my 74-Z speeder bike. Quote
