Sir E Fullner Posted September 19, 2010 Posted September 19, 2010 Hellooooooooooooooo, Pirate guys. This is my first pirate post, so don't be so rough. But do welcome the finest Prussian military ship: Fraulein Schwarz The dear lady was built in 1759 and battled with other nations planning to take over. The ship never lost a battle, but is in need of repairs. I am currently the ship's captain; first mate is my dear friend, Mr. Holzenfauler; and our two soldiers are Rooster and Shooter. Here is Holzenfauler and I. Shooter is in the background. Here is old Rooster viewing the area in case of Pirates and cheap Canadian DVD's Here she is with a few of my other ships. Give us all a'yer loot! Dah, perhaps another day. RUN!!!!!!! Now, you remember all you pirates, nothing can withstand the mighty Prussian Navy! Always entertaining, always inspiring, always: Quote
Sisco Posted September 19, 2010 Posted September 19, 2010 Never lost a battle you say? Let's just pit this against Joey Lock's massive project. It's a nice ship, but it's waaaaaay to small. One cannon? Really? I just think that it could be blown out of the water with one, maybe two well-placed cannon shots. 6/10. Quote

Hmmm.... Joey Lock's Unicorn, someone should get all the LEGO pirate mocs to try and take down the Unicorn. Quote
Capn Frank Posted September 19, 2010 Posted September 19, 2010 -snip- It's a nice ship, but it's waaaaaay to small. -snip- It is way too small. I would say this ship would fit right in with all the Entries from the Pimp your IMTP Ship Contest. efullner, are these custom uniforms these figures are wearing or are they official lego torsos. Thanks. Quote
Admiral Croissant Posted September 19, 2010 Posted September 19, 2010 Well, your ships are not very impressive. They are quite small and you probably didn't spend a lot of time on making them. Your minifigs however, are interesting. I wonder the same thing as Phred. I also like the small detail of the sailor who gets decapitated by a cannonball Quote
Nosaj Posted September 19, 2010 Posted September 19, 2010 (edited) They are nice, and you definently have the basic ship-building concept down. Try to make them bigger though. You dont have to go too big, but maybe make it a good deal longer and wider, and a second deck (gives you somewhat of a cannon/crew sleeping area deck, which would be the lower one, then the floor on top of that) and try to get maybe four cannons if you keep it pretty small. make it wide enough so you can fit a cannon on each side, and all you really need it 4 studs between the cannons I would say(3 is alright too)... If you still have extra room, depending on how much bigger you make it, you could easily get 6 cannons in there. what I would even do it just leave them alone a build a new larger one. Captain Becker Posted September 19, 2010 Posted September 19, 2010 what I would even do it just leave them alone a build a new larger one. Agreed, its a nice little ship but you should try to make bigger one and wich has more cannons. Joey locks HMS Unicorn in LDD was awesome but if you dont want to make so big one, you can always take a looks my ship HMS Mary Queen WIP. The name will change yet so.. But anyway, i think at its a good little ship in the coastline guarding. Captain Becker Quote
prateek Posted September 19, 2010 Posted September 19, 2010 I for one quite like this ship. Even though it's a bit small I like the shape. IMO, the cannon should be on a rotating plate so it can swivel around to the other side. efullner, are these custom uniforms these figures are wearing or are they official lego torsos. Thanks. These torsos are from 10192 Space Skulls. They are stickers that you put on regular black torsos. Quote

I agree... the little ship is beautiful, but the navy may need a ship with a little more backbone yeah I thought the torsos looked like something from lego space sets or agents or something... Quote

They were most often "rowboat" shaped though. They range in firepower from 0 to 3 cannons, have 0 to 2 masts, and were about 50 feet (15 meters) long. These torsos are from 10192 Space Skulls. They are stickers that you put on regular black torsos. Those are awesome! I am going to have to buy some of those torso stickers from BL. Quote
Nosaj Posted September 19, 2010 Posted September 19, 2010 Oh... what language is the name... I know its similar to German, but definently not german (Ich sprech ein wenig Hauchdeutsch. Es ist nicht so gut... ) Quote
Erdbeereis Posted September 19, 2010 Posted September 19, 2010 Oh... what language is the name... I know its similar to German, but definently not german (Ich sprech ein wenig Hauchdeutsch. Es ist nicht so gut... ) Fraeulein Schwarz means basically Miss Black. It's definitely German. Quote
Mrlegoninja Posted September 19, 2010 Posted September 19, 2010 Yes, it is small, but for a small ship it is actually pretty good. Quote
Nosaj Posted September 19, 2010 Posted September 19, 2010 (edited) Fraeulein Schwarz means basically Miss Black. It's definitely German. I am aware of what it means... but Miss Black in german is just Frau Schwarze I am not fluent in german, but I know thats correct... It may just be some kind of a regional slang type thing though. I had thought it may be something very similar to German, like how some languages closely resemble eachother. I speak school house german(hauchdeutsch), so I guess that is probably why I figured this.. Edited September 19, 2010 by Nosaj Quote

He must have named his ship after a beautiful young maiden named Black. Quote
kabel Posted September 19, 2010 Posted September 19, 2010 fräulein schwarz is allright for miss black, but it's definetely schwarz without an 'e', however, since your keyboards don't have the 'ä' you would have to spell it fraeulein, in order to be accurate nonetheless, fräulein is really old, nobody uses it anymore as for the ship, well prussia didn't really have much of an impressive navy during the 18th century, so a small ship would be more likely than any gigantic frigade Quote
flavus Posted September 19, 2010 Posted September 19, 2010 this ship really looks good. the cannon seems to be a little high. off-topic: you learn "Hochdeutsch" (standard German) not "hauchdeutsch". "ein hauch deutsch" would mean a whiff of german, or a little german. Quote

kabel Posted September 20, 2010 Posted September 20, 2010 just to underline what I had said about the Prussian navy: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prussian_Navy Quote
