CMP Posted September 18, 2010 Posted September 18, 2010 I got very bored today. I began to look at my clones. I had Rex, a gunner, and 4 normal ones. The normal ones...they were mocking me. They said 'Make us look good!!' So I grabbed an orange sharpie, a small black felt pen, and a tab on Wookieepedia, and began work. This is my first customization, and I don't have plastic-able paint or anything. This is mostly sharpie. First, some reference pics, courtesy of Wookieepedia. Here's Waxer. Here's Boil. And here they are! The only real difference was their helmets, but it still took a bit of time on each torso. Here's a back pic. I know it's blurry, but there's not much to see besides the fact that I forgot Boil's elbow print. And here they are without their helmets. The face part was a bit harder, the smooth and rounded surface wasn't nice to my marker. Not the best customs, but they're my first, so I felt they deserve a little honor. Quote
Sisco Posted September 18, 2010 Posted September 18, 2010 Fair customs, considering that they're your first. I like them, but they look sloppy. Everything is crooked. I understand why, though, so I can't complain. It's not like I could do any better. Good first customs. Quote
prateek Posted September 18, 2010 Posted September 18, 2010 Very nice for first customs! The marker work could be a bit better, but other than that, great job! Quote
CMP Posted September 18, 2010 Author Posted September 18, 2010 Yes, the sharpie was thick and it came out a bit more red than I would've liked. And I also know that it's sloppy. Quote
Sisco Posted September 18, 2010 Posted September 18, 2010 I'm sorry if that came out as nitpickish.. Quote
CMP Posted September 18, 2010 Author Posted September 18, 2010 I'm sorry if that came out as nitpickish.. I think it came out truthfully. I agree completely. If only I had a smaller, more orange marker. Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted September 21, 2010 Posted September 21, 2010 The slopiness is understandable considering it's your first time and you used sharpie. I experience the same difficulty using markers when customizing my clones. One really has to have steady hands and the right printing technique to pull-off a realtively clean sharpie-print. Nice work still CMP! Quote
The_Customizer Posted September 21, 2010 Posted September 21, 2010 It's not bad. A little sloppy, a little inaccurate. And it needs waterslide paper! No seriously, if you made this with waterslide, it would look much better. Quote
The Penguin Posted September 21, 2010 Posted September 21, 2010 (edited) A very well done first custom. No, really. I even envy you a bit..... Why? My first custom was much worse. And it was a Batman one, back in 1996! ) Good day, ladies and gentlemen! ) Edited September 21, 2010 by The Penguin Quote
