MdrnMrvls Posted September 18, 2010 Posted September 18, 2010 This building has been done for the better part of two weeks. Last weekend, I attempted taking pictures, but the lighting was terrible. So, this morning I adjusted the exposure level on my camera, which appeared to work quite well. Hope you all enjoy! To view all the pictures click here. Quote
prateek Posted September 18, 2010 Posted September 18, 2010 Very nice city block! The interior detailing is great, as is the old-fashioned exterior. Just one question, what is that SNOT stuff on the side of the building? Is it just worn off siding? Quote
BlueBard Posted September 18, 2010 Posted September 18, 2010 Wonderful job and with a pretty refreshing interior look You did it again, BRAVO! Quote
lightningtiger Posted September 18, 2010 Posted September 18, 2010 Excellent MOC 'MdrnMrvls', though a wood shop on the second storey is a bit different especially there isn't any loading bay for supplies to reach them. The bank is nice and the theater group is great how you have ticket booth, stage and seating all just right. Excellent work again from you 'MdrnMrvls' and I'm a conformist! ! Quote
MdrnMrvls Posted September 18, 2010 Author Posted September 18, 2010 (edited) Thanks a lot everyone! I know what you mean about the door shop. I just wanted to try something different. Believe me, I thought about the supply issue! Edited September 18, 2010 by MdrnMrvls Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted September 19, 2010 Posted September 19, 2010 The extrerior is relatively simple in design but quite effective since it's not too overly decorated, and resembles real buildings more. But the interiors are just great, lovely details which pretty much make up for the rather plain exterior. Great job as usual MdrnMrvls! Quote

I always have trouble trying to find a good balancing point between too decorated and under-decorated, so I'm glad you appreciate the fact that it is an old building. I was going to have some advertisements there, but the colors through it way out of style, so I opted out of it. Quote

Fires-storm Posted September 21, 2010 Posted September 21, 2010 Well done on this build, the level of detail is excellent! I like all the different rooms, as well as the coloring, very 1893. Good job, and keep bricking! Quote
jeffjcc Posted September 21, 2010 Posted September 21, 2010 I love the outside of this building. Very realistic to A LOT of run-down old buildings you see in small town, downtown areas. EXCELLENT! Quote

gotoAndLego Posted September 24, 2010 Posted September 24, 2010 They look great, but here are a couple of suggestions. The 1893 looks too crowded. You need a little more white space in either side and def need some white above it. The long technic stud looks bad on the inside. Maybe there is/are alternate methods of attaching the tan 1x plates.
