MOC: 1893 Block

This building has been done for the better part of two weeks. Last weekend, I attempted taking pictures, but the lighting was terrible. So, this morning I adjusted the exposure level on my camera, which appeared to work quite well.

Very nice city block! The interior detailing is great, as is the old-fashioned exterior. Just one question, what is that SNOT stuff on the side of the building? Is it just worn off siding?

Excellent MOC 'MdrnMrvls', though a wood shop on the second storey is a bit different especially there isn't any loading bay for supplies to reach them.

The bank is nice and the theater group is great how you have ticket booth, stage and seating all just right.

I know what you mean about the door shop. I just wanted to try something different. Believe me, I thought about the supply issue!

The extrerior is relatively simple in design but quite effective since it's not too overly decorated, and resembles real buildings more. But the interiors are just great, lovely details which pretty much make up for the rather plain exterior. Great job as usual MdrnMrvls!

Thank you! I always have trouble trying to find a good balancing point between too decorated and under-decorated, so I'm glad you appreciate the fact that it is an old building. I was going to have some advertisements there, but the colors through it way out of style, so I opted out of it.

I love the outside of this building. Very realistic to A LOT of run-down old buildings you see in small town, downtown areas.

They look great, but here are a couple of suggestions.

The 1893 looks too crowded. You need a little more white space in either side and def need some white above it. The long technic stud looks bad on the inside. Maybe there is/are alternate methods of attaching the tan 1x plates.
