This is the wyvern medium aero-space fighter.

It was concieved when the AN realised they were far behind in the fighter department and also to provide a reliable escort(1) to the yet unnamed (and unfinished)

SHIP WIP.

The wyvern is equipped with two laser cannons and two infinite repeaters aswell as two HHSM-45 missiles aswell as four light bombs and a single turret mounted light lasercannon on the nose.

this is quite an impressive armament for a fighter this size but the heavy armament and the advanced composite armor used in the Wyvern makes their cost pretty high.

The bottom showing off the weaponry of the Wyvern(the tan things are the bombs)

Since the Wyvern lacks any landing gear they touch down on their wingtips and the reinforced rear of the light lasercannon.

The rear with the three Fusion powered engines.

The Wyvern is propably the smallest ship in the AN navy which is equipped with a jumpdrive altough the drive is prone to break down if damaged even lightly since it was equipped as an afterthought in order for the Wyvern to follow its larger companions throughout the galaxy.

im running out of technobabble.

Here is one of the HHSM-45 missiles for your pleasure.

Here is how the canopy opens.

legoochfoto_030.jpg

First the armoured "hood" lifts up.

legoochfoto_034.jpg

then the canopy opens allowing the pilot to exit (in emergencies the hood and canopy can be blown clear using explosive bolts)

legoochfoto_036.jpg

Here is the meager controlboard with a red holodisplay and some random instruments(most of the information is fed directly into the pilots helmet)

legoochfoto_037.jpg

The Wyvern is also capable of transporting a passenger in its nose compartment but it is mostly used for cargo and supplies since it is a longrange fighter.

legoochfoto_039.jpg

Buzzard standards fail to fit into the pilot seat but that wont stop them from trying!

legoochfoto_040.jpg

They arent the best pilots...

legoochfoto_043.jpg

Here is a Buzzard light who has just detached from the belly of the Wyvern.

recent tests have revealed the wyvern to be an excellent delivery system for minimechs but Wyverns transporting minimechs are much slower than "empty" Wyverns so the are mostly used to deliver them into orbit and then disengaging and providing firesupport.

This is pretty cool! I have never seen a ship design quite like it before. I like how it all flows aerodynamically. My only thing to point out is that I think you should add some more color. I don't thinks brown works very well with the ship. Other than that, great ship. I hope to see more from you!

Very interesting MOC fredde! I love the rather unique front sloping design and the X-type wing tips. The triple engine thrusters are nicely done too. Keep it up and hope to see more of your creations. default_thumbup.gif

I like this. It may not be flashy, but it has a good utilitarian, military feel to it. Like it could be one of hundreds.

I'm digging the brown for the feel I mention above. I think if you did red it'd look like some typical Star Wars thing.

Hello!

A well-designed fighter craft! :classic: It's great that you provide a detailed underside. The working landing gear is definitely an excellent feature. The small wing tips attached on the middle of the main wings in vertical manner give the ship a menacing overall look. :classic:

Cheers,
