I would hazard to guess that the blue wizard is a throwback to Majesto. He even has a star-shaped wand like the original did. Still, I would have preferred a red wizard as he could have been considered a sort of stand-in for Santa. The non-town advent calendars never really seem all that festive. A few nods to the holidays would be nice.
