rloesberg Posted September 9, 2010 Posted September 9, 2010 (edited) I made a fort based on the Castillo de San Marcos in Florida. Tried to use the techniques that were used for fort Branco. I made it with Lego Designer... unfortunately it costs almost EUR 300 to buy it :( It has sleeping quarters for the soldiers, storage rooms for weapons, treasures and food, a separate room for the officer and even a little chapel. The only problem is that I dont know how I can add the sloped walls to the fort by using Lego Designer... So for now I just placed them next to the fort, to have a complete set :) Too bad I had to use some grey bricks, since I couldnt find the white ones in the Designer, I would also like to add some doors, cause now the pirates can easily walk in :) Edited September 9, 2010 by rloesberg Quote
Captain Becker Posted September 9, 2010 Posted September 9, 2010 Very nice fort, i have thinked also make a fort like this, shall you give us a LFX file for the closer look please? Captain Becker Quote
rloesberg Posted September 9, 2010 Author Posted September 9, 2010 Im not permitted to upload the file... do you know what Im doing wrong? Im fairly new.... Quote
Nosaj Posted September 9, 2010 Posted September 9, 2010 It is nice. If you are able to access Universe Mode on LDD you can get the brick in white, since you arent buying the fort anyway... LDD is very overpriced. I used to find Lego sets overpriced, then I found LDD, but i seem to be getting off topic so I will stop right here Quote
Admiral Croissant Posted September 9, 2010 Posted September 9, 2010 Nice fort! I like the fact that it has all those different rooms, and the overall look is also very good. I think the grey bricks don't look very bad, maybe it's not a bad idea to keep them. But that's just my opinion, I don't know much about forts.. And the chapel is also nice btw You should really try to build this (or something a bit smaller) in real! Anyway, good job Quote
the Inventor Posted September 9, 2010 Posted September 9, 2010 Great fort so-far, I like it. The different rooms with interior look really nice. I agree with Admiral Croissant about the gray bricks, I don't mind them and in my opinion it looks better then all white. Well done, rloesberg the Inventor Quote
Brig. Brick Posted September 10, 2010 Posted September 10, 2010 I love the chapel, you know, from San Marcos de la Florida. You have a very interesting fort there Now you should build the "Fort Matanzas", and then you will finish to protect your LDD San Augustin, before you have to change the name of your Fort to "Fort Marion" or "Fort St. Mark" Quote

I always wanted to build a fort and really got excited when I saw the Castillo de San Marcos. But I started with a version based on Fort Branco here on the forum. I think I will try to expand it to make it more like the real Castillo. Nice fort! I like the fact that it has all those different rooms, and the overall look is also very good. But Im trying to design some buildings in LDD for a port with merchantdwellings and a fort. And maybe in the future I can build it for real :) Quote
Nosaj Posted September 12, 2010 Posted September 12, 2010 How can I access universe mode? Well it is not a super long process, but semi lengthy to explain... You can probably find a guide just by google-ing "how to access universe mode in lego digital designer" or something similar. If you are unlucky, you may not be able to access it, and if you are as unlucky as me you may have TWO computers and STILL not be able to access it, but I am once again getting off topic... Quote
