user Posted September 8, 2010 Posted September 8, 2010 (edited) Well I wanted to help with my uncles wedding around easter but didn't know what to do. I was making clay faces for my easter eggs when my uncle visited and he suggested that I make clay figures for the wedding and so I did. Keep in mind this is only my 1nd making entire bodies with clay and I'm not as old as most of you people here so please be kind. Keep in mind that these are highly inspired by the wotks of Doug TenNapel SO HERE THEY ARE! here's Kog and Experiment #6! Here's smolder and Rod Here's Wonk Charlie and Zappa Here's Snake eyes Snonch and Klamp Here's Thomas Snoodle and Clarance Please comment! Edited September 8, 2010 by computerbug Quote
prateek Posted September 8, 2010 Posted September 8, 2010 Very cool! They are very well done. My sister actually makes clay figures like these too. My favourites of yours are the green one in the first pic and the orange one in the fourth pic Quote
sok117 Posted September 8, 2010 Posted September 8, 2010 These are very cool and very well done, I'm wondering though, are they based on anything, or are they of your own creation? Quote
user Posted September 8, 2010 Author Posted September 8, 2010 These are very cool and very well done, I'm wondering though, are they based on anything, or are they of your own creation? Most of them are my own creation but there were many big influences like for instance the green guy in the first pic resembles "Gear" quite a bit. And the other orange guy was inspired by the grox from spore. But other than that these are mostly based on doodles or just things that popped into my head while I was working with the clay. Quote
Modulex Guy Posted September 8, 2010 Posted September 8, 2010 Heh, cool figures, they remind me ( at least the green/black/purple one) from the Neverhood. Quote
Clone OPatra Posted September 8, 2010 Posted September 8, 2010 These look very nice. I enjoy the cartoony style. Are these baked, or just made out of modeling clay stuck together? Quote
user Posted September 8, 2010 Author Posted September 8, 2010 Heh, cool figures, they remind me ( at least the green/black/purple one) from the Neverhood. You seriously knew about this game? It was the main inspiration for these I am obsessed with that game! And Clone O' patra these are not baked they are still soft which was kind of a good thing and a bad thing because if they where baked and one of them broke I couldn't fix it but this also had to be shipped a couple of states to the wedding but that didn't damage them very much. dr_spock Posted September 8, 2010 Posted September 8, 2010 Nice. Looks like they could be in a stop-motion movie. Quote
Flare Posted September 8, 2010 Posted September 8, 2010 Those are really cool! Great work on these... I suck at clay, I guess thats why I do Legos! Quote
Modulex Guy Posted September 8, 2010 Posted September 8, 2010 You seriously knew about this game? It was the main inspiration for these I am obsessed with that game! Heck yea! I still play it from time to time. I do not know why, but its just fun! Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted September 8, 2010 Posted September 8, 2010 Very nice clay figures computerbug! I must say you really have a talent on clay modelling. To create detailed models in a such a small scale is really very impressive. Great job! Quote
