XimenaPaulina Posted September 7, 2010 Posted September 7, 2010 (edited) Very interesting box-shaped ship design, I'm not that familiar with the ship but I like the SNOT techniques that you did. It's actually a very good first space build, nice job puriri! EDIT: Just saw the link, it's a good collection of geometrical-shaped ships, any plans of doing more of these? I do want to do a couple more. I was planning on doing one of the neolite orbital shuttles. http://wiki.alioth.net/index.php/Shuttle_(Oolite) either that or the one without wings. Quote

I would love to see you try more of these unique-looking ships. Hope to see them soon. Quote
Blackicep8ntball Posted September 7, 2010 Posted September 7, 2010 Hey puriri, This is a fantastic first build. Your SNOT technique is well executed, and you've handled the wing angles flawlessly - not an easy thing to do. I like how you set the tans-orange grills beneath the angled dark grey pieces too. The ship could easily fit into the "classic-space" look - all it needs is light grey instead of dark grey and it would be a shoe-in. Nice build. Quote

It could fit into classic space but I wanted to keep it mostly true to the game. And thanks a lot for all the compliments! Any advice for a new space builder? Quote
Flare Posted September 8, 2010 Posted September 8, 2010 Cool look, very nice design! Keep it up. Quote
Blackicep8ntball Posted September 8, 2010 Posted September 8, 2010 Any advice for a new space builder? Well, I'm a new space builder myself... but judging from your work here, I'd say keep doing what you're doing! Experiment with different things, enter some contests to help force you out of your box, challenge yourself... You're definitely on the right track! Quote

I always see cool contests that I would like to join. But then I never get the ambition to actually build something. Quote
Dr_Legoman Posted September 9, 2010 Posted September 9, 2010 Interesting little ship. I like it! Box design works just fine for this creation, colors are ok and there's enough details. Quote
Masked Builder Posted September 9, 2010 Posted September 9, 2010 I like how nice and angular the ship is great job! Quote
puriri Posted September 11, 2010 Author Posted September 11, 2010 Thanks everyone! I'm definitely going to try another ship eventually. Quote
Legostein Posted September 12, 2010 Posted September 12, 2010 Hello! An interesting compact build. The slight wedge shape turned out great and represents the original well from the resource link. The landing gear is also a great detail. However, I think the two rear braces should have a little more space between them. This way the ship won't tilt to one of the sides that easily and have a better stand. Cheers, ~ Christopher Quote

The landing gear does need to be changed, because the ship is not stable on them. And Cheburashka yes the inside is empty. I't got plenty of room so I think I'll redesign the landing gear and add an interior later. Quote
puriri Posted September 22, 2010 Author Posted September 22, 2010 Good news! It now has a cockpit! Though t had to loose the landing gear it now has space for a fig, chair, crate, and a hatch! Pics will be here soon! Quote
