Baylego Posted September 6, 2010 Posted September 6, 2010 Finally, I have taken pictures of my MOC to post! When I saw the Blacktron sets on Brickset, I thought that i really liked that theme and I wanted to make a MOC from it. This is the ship called the Blacktron Elite Transport, or the BET. It transports Blactron's elite across the galaxy. The interior includes a throne for the elite person and a synthetic fire prison cell to keep high profile prisoners in. It can also serve as a starfighter if one is desperately needed. Here is the cockpit with the Arachnoid pilot. Here is the inside of the shuttle, with the commander facing forward in one view and interrogating a prisoner in another view. Here is another overall view of the ship. Here is the interior without minifigs. Thanks for all of you that looked! Please leave comments and criticism! Quote
Legostein Posted September 6, 2010 Posted September 6, 2010 Hello! It's an interesting ship design with the top fin. I like that the fin is symmetrical with studs on both sides. I am also a fan of the Blacktron series. When I read the thread title I hoped to see several of the old Blacktron minifigures. You might also add some minor white elements which would provide more of the classic Blacktron feel. Cheers, ~ Christopher Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted September 7, 2010 Posted September 7, 2010 Nice MOC Baylego! The all-black body with the trans-light-green cockpit really gives the ship the Blacktron look. I love how you managed to put a rather interesting interior for such a small ship. The interrogation area with flames is a nice touch. Great job! Quote
Aanchir Posted September 7, 2010 Posted September 7, 2010 It definitely could use a bit more green here and there. That's a problem I have with the Blacktron MOCs I make on LDD: too much green looks garish and not at all stealthy, but too little makes for a boring color scheme. If that much lime doesn't work for you, you could use another accent color-- I myself try to use dark bluish gray on the underside of my MOCs. Quote
Baylego Posted September 7, 2010 Author Posted September 7, 2010 Thanks for all of the comments everyone! Legostein- I tried white elements, but they looked out of place and stood out too much. I don't have any classic Blacktron minifigures, sadly. KielDaMan- Thanks! The flames were also meant to make the commander look imposing when you walked in the shuttle. Aanchir- I put more lime than I show in the pictures. A lot of lime is hidden behind the engines. Dark bley might work too. Quote
TheWarden Posted September 8, 2010 Posted September 8, 2010 Interesting build. The central wing looks a lot like the newish Star Wars shuttle... the one with new Vader, but looks a lot better with studs on both sides. Even TLG didn't use this nicer solution! Surprisingly roomy interior. One criticism: the flames are weird and distracting to my eye. I'd try trans-red bars (AKA lightsaber elements) or trans-red antennas like the old Space Police jail bods instead. More sci-fi and cleaner looking. I like the lime accents. If you are into Flickr, it looks like your MOC falls into the guidelines of Blacktron 3. I made a MOC last week to BT3 and you can check it (down the sub-forum a bit) for the link to the Flickr group to post your MOC there or see more lime green. I had problems with how much green to use too! Quote
Dr_Legoman Posted September 10, 2010 Posted September 10, 2010 (edited) Interesting ship. Maybe I would add some details on the wings and elongate the nose just a little bit and that's it. Everything else is ok. Edited September 10, 2010 by Dr_Legoman Quote
