pbk420 Posted September 5, 2010 Posted September 5, 2010 Normally id stick a topic like this in the Lego Digital Designer forum but since its minifig customization i felt it would go better here. I had to sell all my legos sadly so ive been filling the void with doing what i can on the computer using Lego Digital Designer and LDRAW/MLCAD progam. LDRAW/MLCAD has alot of torsos but i was wishing for a way to make more customized ones. So after tinkering around i managed to use one of the miniprograms that comes along with it and produced this... Ill explain how i did it once i can best sum up the words to where it makes sense to everyone. And ill be posting new creations in the days and weeks to come Quote
CommanderFox Posted September 6, 2010 Posted September 6, 2010 A very much improved stomach-ab torso pbk420! Looking forward to seeing more of your creations! CF Quote
pbk420 Posted September 6, 2010 Author Posted September 6, 2010 Thanks ive been trying to think of other ideas to do. The process that im using to make them is a little painstaking. Using the arrow generator in the mlcad program i make tiny arrows usually used for printing instructions . So you can adjust the length and width of the arrow and the indicator line and after inserting it into the drawing you delete the arrow head and your left with a line you can use to draw just about anything. And if you keep all of it on the same Z axis you end up with a decal of sorts you can save for later use. This works great for flat objects like torsos but im still working out the kinks to make decals for the head. And all this is just for making stuff on mlcad and not for trying to make decals for real legos though it could probably work. There are much easier ways to do that which your all already aware of. Anyways enough rambling heres my next couple of things i threw togeather Nightwing and Bane from Batman Lego fame i still want to try to make the acual faces that go to these figs but for now i had to improvise. pbk420 Posted September 6, 2010 Author Posted September 6, 2010 Guess being Labor Day here in the states i got all day to add more stuff ive been experimenting with ... Covered up the bottoms of the feet to give the appearance of bare feet. Think i mightve found a good start for face decals here is Bane updated from eariler Quote
