Solitary Dark Posted August 28, 2010 Posted August 28, 2010 I've been building lots of cars recently, and last night and this morning had a play in LDD. Neither of these took longer than 15 minutes, but they were quite satisfying nonetheless. I made this one in base red then let my son do the colouring! I am going to build this with bricks for him. But I dont think all these pieces are available in purple. Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted August 28, 2010 Posted August 28, 2010 Not bad at all for less-than-15-minute builds. I actually like the simplistic design of the vehicles, though the 6-stud width of the yellow one is uncommon for a car, while the purple mini-truck is quite ok. Nice job mookage! Quote
Fires-storm Posted August 28, 2010 Posted August 28, 2010 A nicely done little quick build! I actually like how you decided on 6 wide construction, as it leaves more room for the minifigs, which is always nice All in all, I like both of these cars very much, so keep bricking Quote
lightningtiger Posted August 28, 2010 Posted August 28, 2010 Nice try on the yellow one 'mookage' I can see what you are trying to do....bring realism to Lego cars, but usually 6 to 8 wide are for vans, utes, trucks etc., or maybe muscle cars too ! The purple one is a winner - I like it - the purple is just that different ! Nice LDD work and I'm a conformist! ! Quote
Solitary Dark Posted August 28, 2010 Author Posted August 28, 2010 (edited) I build all of my cars in 8-wide. - The purple one was a first experiment in 6-wide and I think it looks a little thin. I build my trucks in either 8 or 10 wide to give them an appropriate scale. Fires-storm - you're right of course, its all so you can fit 2 minifigs next to each other in the car. My son's asked for an Indy 50's era Car, so i'll be trying that next. Edited August 28, 2010 by mookage Quote
Superkalle Posted September 15, 2010 Posted September 15, 2010 Lookin' good If you want you can upload the LXF-files. Then we can have a look at the structural stability/technique and give you tips on that too. Quote
