Admiral Ron Posted August 27, 2010 Posted August 27, 2010 Hey there, this is the Castle of Flergon, the home and fortress of a young Lord. So here we go! General view More general view Back view I made it modular, the first time I have done so, and I think it turned out well, except a couple of tiles that have printing. Lets start at the top shall we? This is the top of the tower on the right side. Standard archer and spearman keeping a watch on the noble's land. Next level down, this just holds a single archer, who apparently likes solitare The third level, this houses the Lord's bedroom, with a small outer room to hold a single guard. The Lord's bedroom, with a bed and desk. This is also where he holds his arms and armor. The Lord himself, grinning with good news from the King himself! The second level which holds the Feasting Room. Here the Lord's wife is eating, and a watchful guard. The entrance level, which holds storage and weapons for his guards. And lastly, the grounds, where a squire is teaching the Lord's son how to fight, and another guard watching over the grounds. Total guards in this building, 7. And there you have it, I hope you enjoyed it, and please tell me how I can make it better! Thanks for watching! Quote
Artanis I Posted August 28, 2010 Posted August 28, 2010 I think you could improve the colour of the walls by making the different greys "patchy" like a dog or a cow... a big blotch of dark grey here, some blue grey there etc. Also some of the walls are a bit flat for the most part. The rocks near the ground are good, just incorporate a bit of that for the rest? Good start! Quote
Captain Blackmoor Posted August 28, 2010 Posted August 28, 2010 A neat castle you've got there! I like the size. A bit more details outside would add a lot, some tiling here and there might work as well. I really like the interior, but I would make a wall on the lower floor to cover the back up. Or you should leave the whole back open for easy access. Nice job overall. Quote
Admiral Ron Posted August 30, 2010 Author Posted August 30, 2010 Thanks for the comments everyone! I ran out of grey to make it, so I am ordering more to complete it, I shall try to improve it! Quote
I Scream Clone Posted August 31, 2010 Posted August 31, 2010 ...and thats how it starts Great Castle, but now you have the bug and will want to build bigger and better no doubt. A really nice effort with the collection of bricks available, some nice interiors and a bit of action outside to boot. Keep striving. Quote
Dragonator Posted August 31, 2010 Posted August 31, 2010 A nice effort Admiral Ron, you've made a great start here. As some have said, on your next attempt you could try incorporating a few more architectural details so that the structure isn't so flat and featureless. Good job though, some nice interior details too. Quote
