Diaaabo Posted August 26, 2010 Posted August 26, 2010 Hi! My name is Guilherme, I'm portuguese and I'm 20 years old. I'm currently living in Helsinki, Finland, but going back to Portugal in a few weeks. Even though I never actually had a dark age, I only started buy Lego again last summer, when I also joined Comunidade 0937, the portuguese LUG. My favourite theme is, and as always been, Star Wars. I also like Castle, Pirates and Adventurers, but nowadays I try to focus only on Star Wars. I don't usually MOC much, but I enjoy landscaping and modding official Lego sets. I have some projects in mind which I will present you over the next months, just wait until then :) This summer, for the first time, I took part in an event, Arte em Peças, hosted by Comunidade 0937. I participated with some modules for the communal Star Wars Hoth display and with a smaller Clone Wars WIP I've been working on. I am also an active member of From Bricks To Bothams. I have a blog with some set reviews, MOC and other Lego-related stuff, but it has been abandoned for some months now. Hopefully I will start working on it once again soon enough. I'm an avid reader of the great set reviews hosted here at Eurobricks, which I have been watching for a while but only today I decided to sign up. As soon as I have some spare time, I will get pictures and publish my reviews here. Aside from Lego, I'm a student at a cooking school in Lisbon, currently finishing my traineeship in Finland. I can also be spotted in several punk, metal and folk concerts around the country, either working there or just having fun. Star Wars is my big passion, I'm a big fan of all movies and Clone Wars series. My other interests revolve around cats, dogs, computer games like Age of Empires, Diablo, Tomb Raider and most SW games, Nature, sleeping a lot, and of course, food. So that's it, feel free to ask anything! PS: I tried, in vain, to find a Finnish LUG. Any suomi AFOLs around here? Quote
RoryoCox Posted August 26, 2010 Posted August 26, 2010 Welcome to Eurobricks, Diaaabo. Enjoy the site and please post some MOCs and reviews here Quote
Diaaabo Posted August 26, 2010 Author Posted August 26, 2010 Thanks, I will! Most of my reviews lack pictures, so I will try to get some before I post them here. As for MOCs, it will take a bit longer to build anything and post here, since right now my ABS is some thousands of kilometers away from me. Quote

Captain Becker Terve, kiitos! I've been here for over two months and no sign of AFOLs, I was getting desperate to find some of my kind around here I talked with the 0937 Lego Embassador if he knew of some finnish LUG. He told me that there WAS one, but M.I.A. nowadays; and also a small LUG in Tallinn. Will there be any Lego events in the Helsinki area soon? One week from now I will be going up to Rovaniemi and then back to Portugal, I would really love to see what AFOLs do around here before I return. Quote

Captain Becker Posted August 29, 2010 Posted August 29, 2010 I will surely keep in touch, as I also hope to move definitively to Finland next year after I graduate! Also, Lego in Finland is so expensive Aye I usually have to thinkvery carefully before i buy something, and i am usually thinking at is this set really worth it to buy? I buyed Brickbeards Bounty and guess how expensive it was? Over 100 euros It really would be only 50 euros if we look what we did get on that set And the new Imperial Flag ship was over 200 euros.. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? i would say at it would be near 100-150 euros, but i didnt ever saw that set on my city stores so couldnt buy it Lego is over prizing thei products heavily at me, but hey, thats only me and my big lazy mouth But really, they could lower their prizes Captain Becker Quote

Captain Becker Posted August 29, 2010 Posted August 29, 2010 when I saw the price of the 10195 Dropship, I literally shouted voi vittu! Really? Are you so good at finnish at you know what that means? thats not good word in your mouth Anyway, i know that there are a lot of big price differences between the countrys, and the Finnish is one of the most expensivest in lego hobby Maby i should buy my legos in Russia then.. I sace much money for that couse the russian money is much weaker than euro so its cheaper also. But we are off topic seriosly now, we can talk at this more in our messenger Captain Becker Quote
