UPDATE IN POST 6!

I'm fairly new to ship building and I don't have any hull pieces or sails so LDD is sort of my only option. So here is the HMS Avenger...

A side view

The Stern, I know it is lacking decorations but I didn't really have any options considering the restrictions of LDD.

The Lieutenant's cabin.

The Captain's cabin (Yes it is the same as the Lieutenant's)

And finally the Armory

Any feedback, comments or critiscim would be appreciated in order for me to improve on it

I'm not as familiar with the workings of LDD as others around here, but I think you've made a great ship. If it's possible, I recommend finding a way to make the sides "slope" so that it's more realistic and fun to look at. Is there any chance that we'll see a brick version of this soon?

looks great... you dont need hull pieces or sails to make a sip though, just use the same concepts you did on LDD... or if you need to, you can order hull pieces from bricklink.com

Thanks Tycho, it's nice to hear that it looks good. I'll try to slope the sides and post some updates. As to seeing a brick version, I wouldn't count on it. It would cost me a fortune!

Its very nice ship, The back of the stern would need more work, and the slope is a good idea, i have done that on my ship too but then the only problem is the deck. I really have no idea how to do it whit the slope in LDD. But anyway, its cool looking ship and the masts would need some work and they need to put backer, but otherly its a great ship.

As you can see here I have sloped the edges and removed the masts. I have also added stern decorations. Now to make new sails and post updates

As nobody mentioned it already: you really really should offset the gunports as seen on historic designs like this one:

In addition this ship model also shows you two things:

-> you need to have the hull to curve in two ways in addition to the tumblehome

->in relation to the rest of the ship the sterns is WAY to high and the bow slightly too low (or at least the figurehead is)

Hope this helps... :pir-classic:
