Morgan19 Posted August 20, 2010 Posted August 20, 2010 Here's a little something for my UK brethren across the pond... :) The Queen's Guard figure was created using a customized headpiece, decals, and head (fleshie SW head Sharpied yellow). The gun is by BrickArms. ^ Regular version ^ Graphical version (Photos link to Flickr pages.) m19 Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted August 20, 2010 Posted August 20, 2010 Wow, that's a great-looking Queen's Guard. Gotta love the torso print, arm insignia and the leg pinstripes - just amazing small details. The recoloring of the SW Rebel head is also very cleanly done. Impressive work Sir Morgan19! Quote
LuxorV Posted August 20, 2010 Posted August 20, 2010 Very nice figure, Morgan19. Very accurate and greatly iconic. Maybe you could send one to the Queen Quote
Decale Posted August 20, 2010 Posted August 20, 2010 Daaamn! And I was with my fleshie heads like a hen who found a knife! Now I just have to find one of those pencils and voila! Your decal and helmet are just like official parts, your minifig could totally be from a collectible serie P.S.: Did you paint yellow all over his face including the black parts or did you have to do it with more precision(what I mean is : is it some sort of transparent yellow?)? I don't really know about sharpies and don't even know if I can found them in France... Quote
Zorro Posted August 20, 2010 Posted August 20, 2010 Your British Royal/Queen's Guard looks very attractive and realistic, the red lines over the pants add some strong points to the whole as well. I'm sure a larger unit made out of this custom minifig would look good into any army! Thank you for sharing! Quote
Tanotrooper Posted August 20, 2010 Posted August 20, 2010 Amazing figure, looks very clean. What did you use for the bearskin? (helmets?) Gaetano Quote
OneSnowTrooper Posted August 20, 2010 Posted August 20, 2010 Great work there, really authentic. Maybe make the chinstrap gold, I think they are gold. Quote
Morgan19 Posted August 20, 2010 Author Posted August 20, 2010 (edited) (This multiquote function is wonderful! ) P.S.: Did you paint yellow all over his face including the black parts or did you have to do it with more precision(what I mean is : is it some sort of transparent yellow?)? I don't really know about sharpies and don't even know if I can found them in France... I Sharpied around all the non-yellow parts to be on the safe side; if you're decent with fine motor skills it's pretty easy to do. You could just Sharpie over the black details, but it'd probably turn them a yellow tint that wouldn't look quite right. And I imagine any office supplies store would carry Sharpie or its equivalent. If you wanted to try, just look for any fine-tipped permanent yellow marker. The Sharpie I bought was around $1.50, so it should't break the bank. What did you use for the bearskin? (helmets?) I forget the brand (Cobi, I think?) but it's a medieval helmet turned around backwards and painted black. Maybe make the chinstrap gold, I think they are gold. Yeah, that's an "oops" on my part– I was so intent on torso details and how great the head worked that I overlooked the gold color. D'oh! m19 Edited August 20, 2010 by Morgan19 Quote
Joey Lock Posted August 20, 2010 Posted August 20, 2010 Huzzah! For Queen and Country! You just knew it'd be me posting didn't you? Quote
prateek Posted August 20, 2010 Posted August 20, 2010 Great figure! The decals are perfect, and I love the helmet. How did you make it? BTW, I agree with LuxorV that you should send one to the Queen Quote
Morgan19 Posted August 22, 2010 Author Posted August 22, 2010 The helmet is from Cobi's medieval sets, turned around backwards and painted black. :) m19 Quote
