Fat Tony Posted August 14, 2010 Posted August 14, 2010 Thought I'd share something I threw together last night. In August of 1898, Major Brickmore and his squad had to march across the Martian terrain after their landing rocket crashed several kilometers away from the regiments landing zone. The terrain was a re-use of my Medium Epic Scenes contest entry Inspired by the Mars of classic literature (as seen in the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen Vol. II) More pics can be seen here: MOC Pages Quote
lightningtiger Posted August 14, 2010 Posted August 14, 2010 Excellent idea 'Fat Tony' - I too found a Sci-Fi use for those torso's ! Interesting aray of weapons, I like the think and ideas behind it - I'm a conformist! ! Quote
-zenn Posted August 15, 2010 Posted August 15, 2010 Kewl. I like that helmet design; are those visors in there!? Quote
Legostein Posted August 15, 2010 Posted August 15, 2010 Hello! A nice idea! Maybe some dark red/orange filter would work great to get an even better "Mars feeling". Cheers, ~ Christopher Quote
TheWarden Posted August 15, 2010 Posted August 15, 2010 Great! Retro sci-fi? I sense a new LEGO fad coming on... Gonna make some more? Quote
Solitary Dark Posted August 15, 2010 Posted August 15, 2010 Lovely - Makes we wonder if we will get 'John Carter of Mars' sets in 2012! (Disney's biig summer movie for 2012!) Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted August 16, 2010 Posted August 16, 2010 Very retro-looking MOC indeed, the sepia tone really gives it the 1898ish atmosphere. I love the customized weapons, as well as the use of those trans-clear cylinders/domes. Great job Fat Tony! Quote
Apollo Posted August 17, 2010 Posted August 17, 2010 I just love this. The layout and style remind me of a steam punk-esque space expedition. The uniforms and air apparatus' are capital, not to mention their muskets rigged with axe heads Reminds me of Jules Verne and English arctic exploration at the same time! Quote
The Yellow Brick Posted August 21, 2010 Posted August 21, 2010 Ha ha, Space pirates , I love the helmets Quote
Flare Posted August 22, 2010 Posted August 22, 2010 Haha, this is really cool! I might try building "retro" space sometime... Quote
