dr_spock Posted August 14, 2010 Posted August 14, 2010 Thanks to lightningtiger, I have been looking at 6x6 utes. I found a company that makes 6x6 utes. http://www.6x6australia.com.au They are pretty interesting vehicles and supposed to be better than 4x4 according to the maker. Here's my version of a 6x6 ute in classic 4 wide: Quote
vynsane Posted August 14, 2010 Posted August 14, 2010 They are pretty interesting vehicles and supposed to be better than 4x4 according to the maker. Yeah, but they're not nearly as good as an 8x8. Cute Ute! Quote
sram Posted August 14, 2010 Posted August 14, 2010 Nothing beats a Pinzgauer in rough terrain. Pinzgauer - Wikipedia Quote
Hey75 Posted August 14, 2010 Posted August 14, 2010 Nice MOC , it good to see those retro nowdays. Quote
lightningtiger Posted August 14, 2010 Posted August 14, 2010 Well I'm glad my simple idea inspired you 'dr_spock' - nice and sweet Classic Town feel ute.....I'm planning a six wide as Falcon ute's have a wide body.....anyway nice job and I'm a conformist! 'dr_spock' I'm a conformist! ! Quote
Mr McGow Posted August 15, 2010 Posted August 15, 2010 Youve captured the look of the ute really well Dr_Spock. Good choice for the head of the minifig driver too. My brother's got one of these (but his is white). They are great for carting motorbikes around. To give it an extra Aussie touch you could put a dog in the back tray. Pity TLG don't make red or blue cattle dogs! Quote
Danpb Posted August 20, 2010 Posted August 20, 2010 Man I love 4-wide vehicles. Brings me back to my childhood. I do like the 6 and 8-wide trucks, etc, but I just love the look of the classic 4-wide. Great job :) Quote
dr_spock Posted August 22, 2010 Author Posted August 22, 2010 Thank you all for the kind words. Quote
Legostein Posted August 22, 2010 Posted August 22, 2010 Hello! Lovely, this reminds me to my childhood. Classic car building; it's nice to see those pieces are still being used. When I remember most of the car bases had attached two 1x2 plates on the underside to hide the gap in the middle where the driver sits. Maybe you want to add these to avoid cold draught during driving. Cheers, ~ Christopher Quote
BillytheKid Posted August 23, 2010 Posted August 23, 2010 These cars are very popular in Australia. I don't know why, but your moc is a great job . Quote
