General Redwater Posted August 11, 2010 Posted August 11, 2010 On the morning of June 30, 1765, 7000 Redcoat soldiers went over the top of their trenches at fugazi farm. This monument, sitting on the graveyard of the dead from that day, shows the moment in which the battle seemed lost. The 22nd regiment of foot, located at the heart of the trenches, went over with the most resistance. When the men went over the tops they saw a vast land of destruction with trees shot to bits, and their stumbs burning, and rope and wagon peices strewn about. The flag bearer, making an easy and important target, came under the most fire as the Bluecoats desperately tried to shoot it down to lower the moral of the Redcoats. Over all the cannon and musket fire, the 22nd pushed on to victory! But sadly they suffered the most casualties of the battle, with more than two-thirds of their regiment dead or wounded. Today, the monument acts as a shrine for Redcoat citizen and soldier alike. They light candles there and mourn for the dead. If it wasn't for the bravery of the Redcoat army this day, the whole war against the Bluecoats might have been lost. The whole MOC. The side of the MOC. A Redcoat soldier is shot through the head and is caught by his friend before falling to the ground. The rest of the soldiers rush on to victory. A Redcoat soldier is shot even before he is able to touch solid ground. The flag bearer rushes on as the soldier behind him is shot down, and men begin to panic. (I chose the newer flag because it looks more battle torn and flag like.) The commander of the 22nd inspirers courage in his men by fearlessly running into a hail of lead. Captain Becker Posted August 11, 2010 Posted August 11, 2010 (edited) NOOO! Who shooted me on the head? Who was it??? Anyway great entry, but one question. Why did you had to use my head on that poor guy? Good luck for the contest Captain Becker PS: i usually wear a black hat where is a new red plume pointing to left as seen here EDIT: the folder isnt public yet so we are unable to see more pics, you might want to fix this Edited August 11, 2010 by Captain Becker Quote
Lord Arjay Posted August 11, 2010 Posted August 11, 2010 Ah, well. This is a very good entry Redwater. It is helped a lot by the presence of the commander- clearly he is the star of this. Just look at how brave he is charging into the range of the bluecoats. He seems familiar....? A lot better than that silly person behind him waving his sword at the enemy for no reason. Anyway, I love the setting: Fugazi Farm, it has a nice ring to it. Very well done and good luck with the contest! Quote
General Redwater Posted August 11, 2010 Author Posted August 11, 2010 (edited) NOOO! Who shooted me on the head? Who was it??? I blame Croissant for no apparent reason! Why did you had to use my head on that poor guy? Sorry, when I first made this I intended not to use sigfigs, but the faces seem to look a lot like sigfigs faces. No harm intended though. PS: i usually wear a black hat where is a new red plume pointing to left as seen here My, you have a dashing sigfig. I'm certainly glad that you'r part of the Redcoat army. Ah, well. Yes, somehow he does seem familiar, even if I didn't intend to use sigfigs, I just liked that brave facial expression. And who is that silly person behind you? Anyway, I love the setting: Fugazi Farm, it has a nice ring to it. Very well done and good luck with the contest! Thank you. I tried to use names of famous Bluecoats (or Redcoats) for names of battles. Like this was the battle of Fugazi Farm, it was fought on Fugazi's farm, on of the last battles before the ultimate victory of the Redcoats. Thank you for all the kind comments! - General Redwater Edited August 11, 2010 by General Redwater Quote
