Bobskink Posted December 19, 2010 Posted December 19, 2010 (edited) Here, one quick picture. (note, the Ninja has black hands, I replaced them with yellow hand, to match my other ninja's) Edited December 19, 2010 by Bobskink Quote
Ceroknight Posted December 19, 2010 Posted December 19, 2010 EDIT: Cool News: someone on Flickr pointed out to me that the Japanese Ninjago website is live! It includes various interesting things. The Characters page has links to movie scenes, movie stills, and wallpapers of the main Ninja characters. Pity I can't read a thing on this site... Nice find! I can't read Japanese either but if you look at your web link you get a hint on where you are, like you will see words like 'products' and such, hope that helps Quote
vexorian Posted December 19, 2010 Posted December 19, 2010 Does that mean the skeleton hands are articulated? (Sorry, my minds keep making me think there is a division between the hand and the wrist) Quote

I can't read Japanese either but if you look at your web link you get a hint on where you are, like you will see words like 'products' and such, hope that helps Thanks! In the Products section, if you hit the "More Views" button for any of the spinner sets, you can zoom in on the cards in each set. I was wondering how the cards would be integrated into a spinner-based game, but now I know. Cards have effects like "Guide the spinner with your hand until a player wins", "Place the card on the field, and any spinner that touches it loses", or "The opponent spins with one hand until a player wins". The game portion of these sets should be amusing, to say the least. Quote
Bfahome Posted December 19, 2010 Posted December 19, 2010 Background! A .flv file of the old guy dancing. Evil background! Quote
Aanchir Posted December 19, 2010 Posted December 19, 2010 A .flv file of the old guy dancing. That's not dancing. This is dancing. Is Garmadon's staff actually gold in any sets he comes in? It's not that way in Garmadon's Fortress. A gold lightsaber blade would be a cool piece to have, though. Maybe in a summer set? Speaking of Garmadon's Fortress, the Products page gives the first confirmation so far of what we'd all suspected-- that the skull on the front comes down to become a magical riding spider. Well, maybe not a magical riding spider. But some sort of giant many-legged bug thing. Not sure how fond I am of that feature. Quote
prateek Posted December 19, 2010 Posted December 19, 2010 Who are those black people? (No racial) Quote
Ceroknight Posted December 19, 2010 Posted December 19, 2010 Wait, were the pictures with the different dragons, and temple summer sets? Quote

Aanchir Posted December 19, 2010 Posted December 19, 2010 (edited) Who are those black people? (No racial) Those would be two different pictures of Lord Garmadon, the main bad guy. He's lookin' pretty cool. And yeah, I'm pretty sure the temple/palace and the other dragons are all summer sets. Edited December 19, 2010 by Aanchir Quote
Arigomi Posted December 20, 2010 Posted December 20, 2010 (edited) The bronze/copper axe blade looks great. It's good to know the black army helmet wasn't abandoned. It was just used in a spinner set instead. Edited December 20, 2010 by Arigomi Quote

It was just used in a spinner set instead. It's not in any of the spinner sets-- the skeleton spinners don't seem to have any headgear at all. The black army helmet's still in the exact same set it was first seen in-- the Skeleton Chopper. Anyone else disappointed in what a raw deal Nya ended up getting? She doesn't appear on the Characters Page (of course, neither do any of the big-headed mutant skellies), and her sole set appearance in the first half of the year uses her as a generic "damsel in distress". If she shows up in the Ninjago movie or in any summer sets, I hope her role is given a bit more respect. Edited December 20, 2010 by Aanchir Quote
Delta 38 Posted December 20, 2010 Posted December 20, 2010 Has Sensei Wu's printing changed again, or is this just an alternate torso for the sake of advertising? I prefer this one (obviously) as it has more details and looks better. Hopefully we'll get this version. Garmadon is interesting. His face looks like an Asian-styled dragon/lion/mythical creature, which I hadn't really noticed before. I think the torso still could do with some work, though. I also prefer this staff, and I think this might be the final version of it. Nice lightning piece, too. I don't think I'll be getting the fortress set, though, so I'll hold my breath and see if he's released in a future set... Quote
I Scream Clone Posted December 20, 2010 Posted December 20, 2010 Updated the first post with loads of pics from the last few pages as well as a link to Grogall's Hi-Res pics of all boxes and contents. Quote
Dreamweb Posted December 20, 2010 Posted December 20, 2010 Switch the head and you will get Rayden from Mortal Kombat. Quote
Peppermint_M Posted December 20, 2010 Posted December 20, 2010 Thanks for the picture of those figures. Looks like I can get a black army helmet after all. Quote
pompommini Posted December 20, 2010 Posted December 20, 2010 Looking at the products page most of the cards seem to make your oppoment lose. Also one of the cards make you give your weapon to your oppoment to keep if you lose! Not that I will play the game Quote
Aanchir Posted December 20, 2010 Posted December 20, 2010 Looking at the products page most of the cards seem to make your oppoment lose. Also one of the cards make you give your weapon to your oppoment to keep if you lose! Not that I will play the game Well, most of the cards add another element of gameplay that can cause a player to lose. And in many cases, the player who uses the card will get the advantage (otherwise, there'd be no incentive to actually play the card). But others are just as much a hazard to the person who plays the card as they are to the opponent. For instance, the "Ice Spikes" and "Wall of Fire" cards create a hazard in the arena which either player could potentially hit. I find it amusing that the "game rules" section is so incomplete. There's a "language select" field with a bunch of obscure languages, but most redirect to the American English teaser site. And the Japanese game rules won't even load. Still, that's to be expected when a site is released earlier than expected. I just hope this and other "bugs" are worked out by the time the site is live for American and European users. Also, in case anyone's interested, the LEGO Club website has a short interview with Kai, the Ninja of Fire. The story behind this theme is beginning to seem really compelling. I look forward to more story details! Quote

Zarkan Posted December 21, 2010 Posted December 21, 2010 Okay, I'll be the first to admit that when I saw they were using skeletons for villians again, I was rather disapointed. But now that we have close up pictures of the minifigs, I have to say I'm warming up to the idea a lot more. It seems they've actually gone and given the skellies personality this time, complete with different heads and pieces of armor. In fact, I'd say they have far more personality than the ninjas, which are exactly the same aside from color. At least the ninja*ahem*spinjiztu master looks nice. Quote

I reckon if you do what I would do and take of the head gear and give them faces and add hair it would give them more character though I do agree. The skeletons are great. Quote
The Crazy One Posted December 21, 2010 Posted December 21, 2010 Great news! After some flirting with the glamourous assistant at TRU I managed to get a NinjaGo set! This is in London btw. I got the training set with the blue dragon ninja and those lovely beige skeletons. I haven't opened it yet as I'm in the car waiting for my girlfriend. I'll tell you more when I get home. Quote
