The only set that looks good in the Atlantis 2011 theme is the temple,the other sets look like the subs crashed into the powerminers theme and came out of the wreckage looking like that, but curse the collectible pillars and armor!

The switch to trans. yellow is certainly a good thing if the Blacktron cyborg from Collectible Minifigs Series 3 does indeed have a trans. yellow visor in the finalized set. Since he uses a Blacktron II logo on his torso, that would mean that altogether a pattern of Blacktron II logos with Blacktron 1 color schemes is established for the "new" iteration of Blacktron figures, and I'd certainly be mighty pleased to jump that bandwagon. By extension, the windshields are also a welcome addition for Blacktron builders as well as Classic Space MOCists.

Pity there don't seem to be any of the bubble-cockpits from last year's Atlantis in trans. yellow. That would help MOCists complete the merging of the Blacktron and Blacktron II aesthetic for a new iteration.

And looking at these sets as more than a parts pack, the sets are all beautifully designed. I look forward to what next year has to bring.

Looks like they've changed it up a bit. Trans-yellow isn't much of a strech, but it makes the theme look that much better. :thumbup:

But the sea critters themselves....they've just tripled in awesomeness. The new figs are better than all the old ones put together. Plus, more of the Portal Guard's armor. And the ruins themselves? Hell yea. :cry_happy:

The mech looks a little weird with propellers on the legs, so, here's to a transformation.

They're hundreds of miles underwater, maybe that's an explanation to the yellow color? :tongue: It looks like Rock Raiders meets Aqua Raiders 2 :laugh: .

It seems the HH shark is the new Manta person. I'll probably get Pharoah Quest instead, but I might get one for the golden armor. :sceptic:

The deepest the oceans go is less than 10 miles I think. :laugh:

I get the feeling that Power Miners went deeper into the Earth and that changed the theme, Atlantis is now found and will be in shallow water. Explains why they have no sleeves.

lol. Kinda hard to tell sleeve from arm, when minifigs have yellow skin.

The trans-yellow visor is welcome especially for space-themed MOCs.

For that particular reason, I think I'm gonna get the drill.

However, the Angler is awfully cool.... They put a good amount of detail into the eyes.

you're referring to the new piece above the driller windshield, yes? I like it a lot. Will be great for robot MOCs-particularly at the hands.

And the crab man is the BEST minifig next to Frenzy and the Squid Warrior.

The angler-man is cool, but too much underbite, not enough molded teeth. The Hammerhead gets a cookie for being a very unique idea, but a bit to bizarre to get full marks... I like him, though.

But now they're in multi-useful black so it's still cool.

Not to mention the potential for funny campfire vigs.

And WHOA SNAPSKIES the temple has dark green Kalmah tentacles.

hi guys, i'm new to the site and this is my first post! I really like the new Atlantis sets, my son who is 4 very soon absolutely loves Lego and Atlantis and City are his favourite range (I've tried indoctrinating him into Star Wars but with limited success!) my problem though is that Lego seem to constantly discontinue themes just when i'm getting into them!! Will there be anymore Atlantis sets past the beginning of 2011???

If it ends at the temple then i'm tempted to say forget it and just start getting loads of lego SW which seems to have a load of life still left in it.

Just a comment on the crab claw: I bought the newest Krusty Krab just for the novelty of having Spongebob, and I was mildly irked that Mr. Krabs still had standard minifigure hands - now I can update the little guy like he deserves (oh but it'll be a problem when he cant hold his money :look::tongue: )

Also I suspect that piece was developed just as much for POTC's Davy Jones as it was for Atlantis :thumbup: :thumbup:

One more thing, looks like it would make an amazing eagle/griffin head with printing - it doesn't look enough like a crab claw to be planned for use solely as a crab claw.

Guys, no image deeplinks of future Lego sets. Not until they are launched officialy. If you see them posted, report them so staff can remove them. Quoting them just doubles the instances of the images.

I know you are all eager to see what is coming in the future, but for whatever reasons, TLG doesn't like their products being leaked ahead of time and it can cause a lot of trouble for image hosts and Eurobricks for such pictures to turn up on the internet. So far, links are acceptable but deeplinked images (or posted, for those unfamiliar with the term) are not allowed.

I don't think that that "crab" figure is indeed a crab. I think he might be a lobster, though I could be wrong.

It looks more like a lobster to me at any rate.

It's the golden pieces sticking up off it's head and sort of spiny tail at the back that looks lobsterish to me.

I really like the new sea creature figures, but I think that they're a little too bulky. I think the greenone with the HUGE mouth woul dlook better if they made it a little smaller.

I really love that new submarine with the drill. It's beautiful!
