Lost Viking Posted April 15, 2006 Posted April 15, 2006 That's awsome TT! There are some sets that I have not even heard about! Thanks! Quote
Zane Posted April 15, 2006 Author Posted April 15, 2006 I was kinda gonna check that they're acutally avaliable before I said anything about that site. Oh well. ~Tilius~ Quote
Sarg_Kulo Posted April 15, 2006 Posted April 15, 2006 wow, thanks for posting, that batcave is looking sweeter and sweeter *sweet* Quote
jonfett Posted April 15, 2006 Posted April 15, 2006 I know Sam already said something, but how come a few minutes after Christian posted the link for us, you have all these hi-res pics in your gallery? Jon. Quote
Zane Posted April 15, 2006 Author Posted April 15, 2006 Ah, didn't know it was already posted. Just came across them at the same time. If sam's ordered the Sailbarge, I'll probably order something too.... Quote
blueandwhite Posted April 16, 2006 Posted April 16, 2006 Well, this is a bit of a mixed bag... The Good On the one hand, the Batmobile is looking quite nice. The racers set doesn't look too shabby either. The two Vikings sets look pretty decent, and the Exo-Force sets (allthough not my cup of tea) look solid with an interesting assortment of hinges, joints and Technic pieces. For those of you who like mecha, this is probably a dream come true. The motorbike and sidecar also looks good as a smaller set. The Bad On the other hand, KKII, year 3 looks to be something of a disappointment. These models are still far too <insert that tiresome argument> for my tastes. Empty arches and large pre-fab walls make these sets look quite large, but there really isn't much to them. There is no excuse for such poor construction considering how well-built other lines have been in recent years. I guess LEGO doesn't figure castle fans are all that when it comes to building as these sets are far simpler than any of the other lines. At least the figs look ok. The Batcave looks allright, but it feels like a large amalgam of mini-sets, rather than a unified construction. I don't know why, but it reminds me of some of the Dacta sets LEGO produced in the 1990s. I have mixed reactions on this one, but I suspect I'll be passing on the cave. The Downright UGLY What is with those Bionicle mini sets? They aren't really Bionicle, and they certainly aren't LEGO. They are more like playsets than anything else. Personally, I feel that these things completely miss the boat, as they don't look like they would appeal to either LEGO or Bionicle fans. I'm surprised they've made new ones considering the ones from the previous year seem to be sitting on shelves everywhere I go. Strange. Oh well. Some good, some bad.... I guess that's par for the course. Later. Quote
optimus-convoy Posted April 16, 2006 Posted April 16, 2006 Very nice find. Just some thoughts: - The Bionicle playsets still look 100% better than last years. - Umbra is starting to grow on me a little. - KK2 sets seem better than initially thought. - The Batmobile... 8- Quote
natelite Posted April 17, 2006 Posted April 17, 2006 The sentai set looked overpriced. However, it is the only set with the sensei minifig and one of two sets containing the golden robot. Maybe it will appeal to collectors who buy the set for the MFs and sell the other parts? The bat cave looks awesome with the black batman and a robin mf to boot. But I think the batmobile is more iconic than the bat sled. You do get loads of MFs though including the butler and the alter ego, bruce. Again another set which I think will be bought for the MFs and the parts sold. The defense tank doesn't look impressive. The alternate model however looks like a can of whoop-megablocks mecha! I may get it just to make the alternate. Kinda weird that the pilot sits on the arm and not in the torso though. you can see the alternate model here... http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Tilius/T..._e931dbfdd0.jpg Quote
TroyTMoore Posted April 17, 2006 Posted April 17, 2006 The Viking seige wagon.... AKA Army Builder, where is the 7th fig? The "missing" one that has been in other pics has my favourite torso (scale maille). I hope he is riding in back manning the firing mechanisms. KK2:3 :-X The fig accessories are great, a huge improvement, but the structures have very few actual bricks, at least from what can be seen. Maybe an inventory of the sets would improve my opinion... maybe The Creator dragon has some great parts. The model itself looks pretty neat. Exo-Force looks really good. I hope this line is doing well. I am a castle head but between Star Wars (I have a few sets including Sandcrawler) and Exo-Force I am tempted to build some space stuff.... *y* The big headquarters set looks like a set that will do well, as you have lots to build and a large enough amount of figs and vehicles (mecha) to have a battle all out of one box. If you look at this pic you can see that he is standing on the spear on the front: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=1602969 I assume he was digitally added, so he isn't in the hi res pic, which hasn't had any digital work done to it. The website the pics come from says that there's seven figs. Quote
Sting Posted April 17, 2006 Posted April 17, 2006 *going to buy at least three or four of the Viking Wagons* Quote

Very happy to hear this (and with a little investigation of the site I would have seen that was the case :-$ ) Quote
prateek Posted April 19, 2006 Posted April 19, 2006 the helicopter looks like the prototype of the helicopter released in 2003 Quote
gusmoore17 Posted April 19, 2006 Posted April 19, 2006 No matter what Classic Castle fans say, KKII-3 have really make an improvement in minifigs, accesories and colors!!! No more black and red castles or stupid construction castles (such as Morcia one), they look great!! Besides, if you look closer there are many walls made only of brick and basements (as long as there are no one-plastic-piece ones) had to be made with <insert that tiresome argument> pieces so there can be a balance in structure... I'll be buying at least the Gargoyle Bridge, and what about the Battle at Pass??? :'-) Vikings are amazing!! The Ofnir Dragon is kinda exagerate, but still looks great, as the Double Catapult and the Wagon. There are new stud faces!!! *wacko* I'm not a fan of Exo-Force, but I have to admit that the Sentai Headquarter amazed me!!! 8- Quote

sam89 Posted April 19, 2006 Posted April 19, 2006 I don't think the Bionicle stuff is that bad. The outpost is nice and simple, and the creature isn't that bad. The Lava Bridge and the Stronghold both look like reasonably good sets, and I like the inclusion of the molded bases, which I initially though would only be on the box art. I also quite like the KK2 stuff. I won't be getting any of it, but it looks nice. I now really like the boat, which now has silver on the sails, improving the look of the whole model IMO. The Vikings look awesome. I really like the design of both the seige engines, although I like the double catapult in particular. These new pics have also convinved me that I have got to get the Batcave. Quote
KingofLego456 Posted April 20, 2006 Posted April 20, 2006 Already knew about the BIONICLE stuff but the rest was pretty cool. Quote
