ThatGuyWithTheBricks Posted August 6, 2010 Posted August 6, 2010 I was just wondering how everyone makes the connections between the different stories of you Modular houses. I know that TLC technically doesn't have any connections, but I find it obtrusive to try and build slots for them. Quote
tedbeard Posted August 6, 2010 Posted August 6, 2010 (edited) I don't understand your question. The floors fit together so that they do not slide or move. In terms of the interior there is usually a stairway, or in the case of the Emporium, an escalator that "connects" one floor to the other. Could you be more specific? Sisco Posted August 6, 2010 Posted August 6, 2010 I don't think it's practical, it kind of defeats the purpose of modularity. Quote
gotoAndLego Posted August 6, 2010 Posted August 6, 2010 Its a combination of mostly tiles and a few studs to keep the above floors from sliding around. Quote
lightningtiger Posted August 6, 2010 Posted August 6, 2010 'gotoandLego' is right a combo of tiles and plates, the plates go in corners and in weak points of the building like ends of walls if it's open backed and the walls are high. Even some of my buildings (though single storey) use this trick for fixing the roof on - handy to make MOD's or repairs to the particular MOC. I'm a conformist! ! Quote
Jan Posted August 6, 2010 Posted August 6, 2010 (edited) Although I guess you mean vertical connections between the floors, I just wanna show you a digital model I made for the ldd contest where every story of the building including the roof is interconnectable (with pins), and the advantages of that system. A more fixed vertical connection wouldn't be bad either and could open some possibilities. (hanging floors?) link to my LDD contest contribution Edited August 7, 2010 by Jan Quote

I use this tecnique all the time when i build modular, or regular houses. I even took the Lego House (4956) and made it two storeys instead of one. I also use it on LDD on modular buildings Quote
