Kubik-Rubik Posted August 6, 2010 Posted August 6, 2010 Do you remember this scene from American superhero film "Spider-Man" (2002)? Kubik-rubik presented! The Spider-Man (Tobey Maguire) and Mary Jane Watson (Kirsten Dunst ) in the Kubik-rubik's romantic vig "Kiss under the rain" And how sing Geri Halliwell: It's raining men Hallejulah It's raining men... It's Spider-man ?! O_o The kiss under the rain - it's so romantic!.. Quote
chump Posted August 6, 2010 Posted August 6, 2010 Just FYI, this scene was recreated in Lego form on the outside of the 4851 Lego Spiderman: Origins box. Not that a memorable scene like that doesn't deserve another re-creation. Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted August 6, 2010 Posted August 6, 2010 Even if it was already done in brickform, I would still say this is a pretty good vig. I for one, have seen this in lego for the first time, and I think you did a pretty good job recreating this scene Kubik-Rubik. I love the details on the walls, and even the hanging stairs. Of course, the shot of MJ kissing Spidey is classic. Quote
Oky Posted August 6, 2010 Posted August 6, 2010 Simple, but nice. It captures the scene pretty well. However, to me this scene isn't very romantic, but hilarious, because if you've seen the Making Of, you just know how much Maguire is trying not to drown from that rain in his nose. Quote
lightningtiger Posted August 6, 2010 Posted August 6, 2010 Every one sees romantic scenes in different ways I guess, this vig is CUTE with a touch of humour.....he's still wearing that mask he's had on for days ! Great vig building there 'Kubik-Rubik' and I'm a conformist! ! Quote
dr_spock Posted August 6, 2010 Posted August 6, 2010 Cute scene, good repro. As a kisser, I wouldn't find kissing with water dripping in my nose very romantic. Maybe more like self-inflicted water boarding torture. Quote
Blondie-Wan Posted August 6, 2010 Posted August 6, 2010 Lots of things that wouldn't be that great in real life look great on screen, and this scene is one example. I'm sure kissing upside-down in the rain wouldn't really be all that much fun for the reasons discussed, but it works terrifically in the film. Great MOC, Kubik! Quote
Batbrick Posted August 8, 2010 Posted August 8, 2010 Great little setup here, I like how you've used the movable click-joints. They'd be hell on a steady creation but for a vig it works. The way you've positioned the minifigs and webbing is commendable as well. Not much else to say, but a good, simple translation of a good scene. Batbrick Away! Quote
LegoDad42 Posted August 9, 2010 Posted August 9, 2010 Ahhhh...very romantic... I like this vig alot! I never had any of the Spider-Man sets so I've never seen the LEGO version of this. This is great. I wonder...if you can get/make a custom Spidey head with the mask partially off? Quote
