Sir E Fullner Posted August 5, 2010 Posted August 5, 2010 I am having problems with my train table. I have had it since 2005 and I hadn't noticed its problems until I bought my first LEGO train in 2007. I saw that it slowed down in various parts and the fact being was that it wasn't parallel with the table it was mounted on. There was a curve in the middle that caused the trains to slow down. Does anyone know how to fix this problem? P.S. I don't want to wreck the table it's mounted on. Always entertaining, always pondering, always: Quote
Captain Green Hair Posted August 5, 2010 Posted August 5, 2010 Basically you are saying that your table is crooked right? Adding beams to the bottom of the table deck might help to make it more straight, especially when you use glue and the extra beam is attached to a straight frame on both ends, making sure the beam is straight on top. Hope that helps? Quote
frogstudio Posted August 6, 2010 Posted August 6, 2010 My trains usually slow down a bit on curves (even if layed down on the floor). this is mainly due to friction... Quote
Sir E Fullner Posted August 6, 2010 Author Posted August 6, 2010 Basically you are saying that your table is crooked right? No, the table isn't bent, the plywood is. Quote
Modulex Guy Posted August 7, 2010 Posted August 7, 2010 Can we get a picture of your table set up? I have built my fair share of train tables, shelves, and work benches to work out how to properly re-enforce and support them. Quote
Brickviller Posted August 14, 2010 Posted August 14, 2010 I've had the same problem with my trains on a bended table. We added some frame work underneath it and now my trains run as smooth as they can Quote
simonwillems Posted August 14, 2010 Posted August 14, 2010 Hmm, maybe there is moist between the layers of plywood? I am having the problem of varying trainspeed all the time, having set up my trains in the attic of a hundred year old house which over time sank in the soil a few centimeters on one side.... Quote
CarrollFilms Posted August 16, 2010 Posted August 16, 2010 (edited) Ok, I don't know if this is usual but I have 50 9V Straight Tracks as my straight aways, and then a 4 piece curve, my train will sometimes slow down on the turns, depends on the notch I have it turned to, so it pretty much means your fine, unless the plywood is beending the track upward. It would be nice if we could see a picture. Edited August 16, 2010 by CarrollFilms Quote
The Yellow Brick Posted August 16, 2010 Posted August 16, 2010 My Train layout is based on a carpeted floor and I've noticed that the trains seem to slow down on curves and speeds up on straights. Quote
