Leo-J Posted August 5, 2010 Posted August 5, 2010 (edited) "... a huge starship, one hundred and fifty metres long, shaped like a sleek running shoe, perfectly white and mind-boggingly beautiful. At the heart of it, unseen, lay a small gold box which carried within it the most brain-wretching device ever conceived, a device which made this starship unique in the history of the galaxy, a device after which the ship had been named — The Heart of Gold." --- from chapter 4 of THHGTTG by Douglas Adams This is my loose interpretation of the Improbability Drive prototype ship called Heart of Gold. XimenaPaulina Posted August 5, 2010 Posted August 5, 2010 Super-white-clean! Another uniquely-designed ship Leo-J, I love the 'ribbed' details in front, quite clever use of the white modified 2x1 plates with handles. Quote

Flare Posted August 5, 2010 Posted August 5, 2010 Oh yeah, I remember this one. Nice work Leo! You seem to like building with white, eh? Maybe cause you're good at it? Quote

It's more like my limited collection forcing me to work with mostly white and black bricks. Mr. T would pity the fool with pathetic LEGO® collection, i.e., me! Edited August 5, 2010 by Leo-J Quote
Ro13ey Posted August 5, 2010 Posted August 5, 2010 I know what you're talking about! My mom read it! Looks great. Quote

Hindi rin naman ako umiinom ng beer, hehe... Anyway, it's really nice to know a fellow kababayan here in EB, and I am really impressed with your mini-Sci-Fi ships, very unique designs and great details for such a small scale platform. Quote
Hoboman Posted August 7, 2010 Posted August 7, 2010 Of the ships you have posted so far (or at least the five I have seen ) I like this one the best. Now that does not mean I think the others are anything other then great. It is just this one grabs my attention and imagination more then the others. Well Done. Quote
Batbrick Posted August 8, 2010 Posted August 8, 2010 It's been a long time since I've read Hitchhikers, but from that paragraph you've sensible accompanied with the moc, I can see the clever design process from the rather vague description. Making it all white really payed off too, and the shoe shape is very recognisable. My only gripe is that the back half is a lot less detailed than the front. Batbrick Away! Quote
lightningtiger Posted August 8, 2010 Posted August 8, 2010 What a different use for those 2x1 handle plates - very clever indeed. Basic white - very clean too - great design job there 'Leo-J' and I'm a conformist! ! Quote
