TheAllSeeyingGuy Posted July 28, 2010 Posted July 28, 2010 (edited) It's finnaly finished . http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EI22JkuZaPc After building this thing for so long it´s finally finished, I started making plans for building this battleship almost a year ago. The Halberd is a battleship that is from the Kirby franchise. It´s owned by metaknight and had a complete redesign in Super Smash Brothers Brawl (a populair fighting game). The ship i made is from Smash Bros Brawl. The ship itself is about 150 cm long and contains alot of details, it also uses a large amount of purple lego bricks (which are all real lego bricks, no painted ones) which are about 1100 purple parts in total. I wanted to make this ship look like lego (by building pretty blocky) but also give it alot of details, which makes a very nice combination for me. Underneath the ship there are also details but i couldn't take a photo of them because my camera was too big... In smash brothers (the fighting game), the characters usually fight on the bridge of the ship Mocpages page Edited August 6, 2010 by TheAllSeeyingGuy Quote

Raven Brickroft Posted July 28, 2010 Posted July 28, 2010 Now you need more Brawlers... got a picture of those guys fighting? I'm guessing that's Link and Metaknight awesome creation! I was surprised about the sheer size of it. Quote

It's on the Mocpages page, it wasn't shooted at the right angle though because my camera was very low on battery power. I'll upload a picture in a few min. Blackicep8ntball Posted July 28, 2010 Posted July 28, 2010 WOW! I really like this MOC - your year was well spent. The size, the colors, and THE BLOCKINESS! I've always enjoyed Lego creations looking like they're made out of Lego parts. Nice work on Meta-Knight and Link - bring a few more pics of them over here to EB so people don't miss them. I love the reference to Super Smash Bros. too. Ah, the memories of my gaming days. Quote
TheAllSeeyingGuy Posted July 28, 2010 Author Posted July 28, 2010 Thanks, the metaknight wasn't made by me, but i got it from a youtube video from spartandara117 . And the link is actually snake haha . Quote
Hoboman Posted July 28, 2010 Posted July 28, 2010 Wow, that is a great ship. You did a good job capturing th eship in LEGO style. I am curious though, do you know how heavy this is? Also do you know how many bricks are in it? It is always fun when I read that info on these large sculptures. Quote

The ship contains at least 5000 parts, which is pretty cost efficient. I'm not sure about the weight though, the inside of the halberd is pretty much full of bricks to support the top weight which also makes me wonder how many parts i actually used, since i used tons and tons of spare parts for the inside. The pillars are almost unmoveable on which the ship stands. I'm assuming about 7/8 kilos? Really hard to tell. The ship all in all still costed me 500 euros (600 dollars)probably due to the large amount of large bricks i used. Which were pretty expensive. Edited July 28, 2010 by TheAllSeeyingGuy Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted July 29, 2010 Posted July 29, 2010 Great MOC T.A.S.G.! That's one massive battleship alright. Gotta love all those purple parts, the orange color is nice too. The design closely resembles the real thing. One comment though, you really like studs eh? It would have been better if it were a bit smoother. But still, good job on this one. Quote
BrickClick Posted July 29, 2010 Posted July 29, 2010 Wow! This thing is huge and the colours are great! Excellent work! Quote
TheAllSeeyingGuy Posted July 29, 2010 Author Posted July 29, 2010 Thanks for the comments, i've made a video showing more pictures, watch it in HQ to hear music. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EI22JkuZaPc Quote
-R8- Posted August 4, 2010 Posted August 4, 2010 I think what really draws me in is that it's made out of mostly standard bricks and plates, balancing both the traditional LEGO look as well as the incredible realism of the model. Great effort and beautiful work! Quote

Great effort and beautiful work! I really wanted the ship to look like it's made from lego, but also add enough details that actually looked realistic, which was achieved by using some SNOT techniques. I've made a comparison photo of the real ship and my lego model, this is the fighting stage of the ship: Quote
TheAllSeeyingGuy Posted August 9, 2010 Author Posted August 9, 2010 GREAT work! This looks amazing! Thanks . Quote
mcfarlandman Posted August 18, 2010 Posted August 18, 2010 Very impressive - nice job getting all that purple! Quote
prateek Posted August 18, 2010 Posted August 18, 2010 Great job. It looks so accurate compared to the screenshots Quote
SilentMode Posted August 18, 2010 Posted August 18, 2010 Excellent job! I appreciate that you went for the studded look, that isn't so common these days. It must have been so hard to build! Quote
Delta 38 Posted September 3, 2010 Posted September 3, 2010 Great! Some brick-built Kirby characters would improve this even further. Quote
TheAllSeeyingGuy Posted September 11, 2010 Author Posted September 11, 2010 Great! Some brick-built Kirby characters would improve this even further. Metaknight is currently the only one, and i built him from a instructional video. Pretty neat what you can sometimes find on the internet . Quote
