Hi,

After lurking for 2-3 weeks I decided to sign up and tell you my little story how I ended up here...

Not so long ago a gamers book said try the game Harry Potter Lego on PC is excellent... I am a big gamer and said myself they must be joking, that childish game... So I tried anyway... and eeeeewwww I loved and reminded me until my 13 years old that I played Lego and sold everything.

So it made me go to the Lego Site and discovered LDD. for weeks I did build things from Creator, but started to see a lot of parts where missing, so started to search the Internet and discovered the site with the explanation of Lego Universe for LDD... and changed many things, can't say thank you enough. Started a Medieval city in LDD now. And now on 2nd August is my birthday, Yes I become 38... and decided to buy the real Lego again for my birthday from a few sponsors :) like my wife... First she laughed... but when she saw the modular houses and things like the Taj Mahal she agreed... So yes I am still waiting, I have ordered 3 Modular houses to start my dream city (10211, 10197, 10185). I love LDD but when I finish something I am a little sad that it is in a file on my computer. I hope one day to do some MOC but have to find the feeling again of building in real. When I see when some people who made MOC, I am really stunned... Like the Museum, or marriage gazebo I saw here I am amazed...

So here I am again in the world of Lego starting again a big hobby, that's gone take a lot of room, time and money.... BUT A LOT OF FUN!!!!

Just what we love to see. Another one come back to us...

I hope you have a marvelous time building those sets once they come and don't stop with the LDD, it is an amazing program and with the help of some really talented people it is getting better and better.

Welcome to the addiction!

Welcome to the forums Deadraque. I am a little older than you and like you have just got back into the fun of Lego. My wife thinks it strange too but she does like some of the minifigs I have.

Enjoy your second youth.

BTW I love all the Lego computer games from Star Wars to Harry Potter but Lego Batman on the Xbox 360 is my Favourite

Hey Deadraque, thanks for sharing your story! I'm sure you'll enjoy this return to the LEGO hobby.

Like yourself I also live in that little weird country called Belgium

Hey Deadraque, good to see you on Eurobricks. I'm another one of those married AFOLs, and it does take some getting used to for the better half, but my wife has enjoyed some of my Lego creations. She even gave me a Lego room in the house (maybe because she likes me, or maybe so she doesn't have to see Lego parts all over the rest of the house. I like to think its the former, but logic tells me maybe more the latter ). I agree with you about seeing Lego creations in real life too... just not the same on LDD. Anyway, enough of my chatter. Welcome, and I look forward to seeing your creations!

Thanks for all the replies!!! And will probably be here for a long time :) As I will probably need help sometimes on constructions, and saw there was useful information when there are stores that give 50%. So very interesting. I saw a moderator here from Belgium (Bonaparte) so have a little question where do you buy your lego at the best price in Belgium? As the sets I ordered come from the UK because I spared like 30-50 € on each set.

Last year I did some nice deals at Makro (50% of on many sets), but most of the time I just buy sets via S@H. Where do you buy your sets in the UK? Do you get to save money because of the euro-pound conversion? You can also PM me where you buy in the UK if you prefer not to post that info on the public boards.

No, it's not a secret :) It was on ebay but in the UK he sold pieces at 115 and 125 new but as I bought 3 I got them at 105 each just sending was 90 € :( Should arrive Friday.

I have a macro card, so I am gone take a look! Also took a look on BrickLink but comes out expensive in postage if I want to order 1 piece at that person and then 1 at another and so on.
