Fallenangel Posted February 8, 2011 Posted February 8, 2011 (edited) Okay, who wants to tell I Scream Clone he misspelled 'millennium' on the front page? MM is the obiwan star fighter good value? Er, did you mean to post this here? And what's an 'obiwan star fighter'? Edited February 8, 2011 by fallenangel327 Quote
kris kelvin Posted February 8, 2011 Posted February 8, 2011 (edited) That`s all. Edited February 8, 2011 by KielDaMan Resized images Quote
Strand Posted February 8, 2011 Posted February 8, 2011 kris kelvin, the gift that keeps on giving! Keep up the good work! Pod-racers look like a hell of an improvement, still has that obtrusive 'strut' in between. I can live with it though. I want to say no to the Republic Frigate (already have Cruiser and RBR), but dayum those minifigs! Quote
Brickdoctor Posted February 8, 2011 Posted February 8, 2011 Thank you, kris kelvin! Pods are so . I see they fixed the placement of the air scoops and the color of the power couplings, plus the orange Power Miner wheels on Sebulba's pod are looking sweet. The 'figs are pretty good, too. The frigate...meh. I see a bunch of stickers and flick-fires. Pass. Infiltrator is looking a lot better with the middle stripe in light bley. I see stickers, but they don't look so bad. I think I'll probably get this one if Padme and Panaka don't end up being magnets. Quote
blksuperman2 Posted February 8, 2011 Posted February 8, 2011 Okay. I'm officially geek'd out. It's sad that I can't afford to get all of these wonderful sets. :( Quote
Oky Posted February 8, 2011 Posted February 8, 2011 I knew it! The pods are connected to the engines by trans-clear Technic beams! And the power couplings are pink! And Anakin does have goggles! Woohoo! Quote
Brickus Posted February 8, 2011 Posted February 8, 2011 Thanks so much for the pics kris kelvin, I can't wait to get them all. Quote
drdavewatford Posted February 8, 2011 Posted February 8, 2011 From my perspective, the Summer 2011 sets are looking waaay more desirable than the first wave this year, even though I have at least one previous version of nearly all of them already.... The Sith Infiltrator is looking better than previous versions. The Republic Frigate looks like 2007's Republic Cruiser (Set 7665) wearing the Venator's clothes ! I think I prefer the old red cruiser to this frigate. The podracers look great ! What is that trans-red piece coupling the engines together, incidentally ? I initally wondered whether it was 2 lightsabers joined together in the middle, but there's no join. Any ideas ? Dr. D. Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted February 8, 2011 Posted February 8, 2011 Thank you once again kris for providing these new pics! It's really great to see these upcoming sets in clear and hi-res pictures, as you could see the significant improvements of the podracers and the Sith Infiltrator. The Republic Frigate looks pretty good, the great selection of almost all-new minifigs somehow makes up for the expected inaccurate size of this ship. Quote
mordatre Posted February 8, 2011 Posted February 8, 2011 I don´t know if it´s been mentioned in this rapid-growing thread but Wald seems to be sandgreen instead of Onacondas regular green. Hopefully it´s sand green so you can build a more accurate Greedo. Quote
JCC1004 Posted February 8, 2011 Posted February 8, 2011 MF: Disappointing. I'm not sold on the mandibles. Maybe it's perspective or something, but they look awful. Love what they did with the cockpit and some of the other details. But those mandibles just rub me the wrong way. The floodlights on the front are a single clear stud? Honestly I'd have preferred the preliminary version (below) http://i53.tinypic.com/9hqf7a.jpg I agree. Don't forget to mention that the preliminary didn't have those awful randomly placed 1X2 tan tiles and the fact that it actually had some detail on the inside of the radar dish. But let's also keep in mind that this box also does say "Preliminary." Quote
Batman1 Posted February 8, 2011 Posted February 8, 2011 Thanks again Kris Still no sign of the geonosian starfighter I know it will come soon, i'm just really looking forward to seeing the final image and seeing if it's cody we are getting, or a new clone Thanks for reading, Batman1± Quote
lightningtiger Posted February 8, 2011 Posted February 8, 2011 (edited) Thanks again 'kris' for these extra photos, I must say I'm impressed with the podracers - on shopping list, so is the Sith Infiltrator which looks more genuine than the first Lego one - now that one was MEH ! The Republic ship - not really - unless I can score one on clearance.....though I feel at the moment it's the better of the two CW big ships so far ! May the brick be with 'kris kelvin' and the rest of us ! Edited February 8, 2011 by lightningtiger Quote
General Magma Posted February 8, 2011 Posted February 8, 2011 (edited) Thanks for these pics, once again. The Podracers look great! I'll need lots of those minifigs for Rodians, Toydarians, Dugs etc... I like Sebulba's pod best. But is it just me, or does it look like Sebulba's legs can move as they're loose from each other? The Republic Frigate... Well, when the figures don't appeal to me and the set itself doesn't either, then it's a pass. I might buy it on discount, though (if there'll be any) to keep the "collection" of Frigates of that style complete. Sith Infiltrator: I don't really like the 'studdy' look of the Infiltrator on some spots, but overall: it looks very good and bigger than the previous two. The figures are good - but I would probably just want Qui-Gon's hair and body, so I can use the better flesh head from the 2007 Rep. Cruiser. From what I can see, the new head doesn't look like Qui-Gon/Liam Neeson. I could use Padme and Captain Panaka, though. I need a closer view of Darth Maul to make a conclusion, but I'd say it's a pass, except for maybe the torso. The giant forehead looks horrible, and although I really want horns on Darth Maul, they could have made a hood with holes in the inside for him, to fit over a regular horned head.. I would have liked horns without needing to have that giant forehead put on. I'll end up buying this set anyways, though. All in all, this wave is best for the figures, which are fantastic. Logray remains my favorite, though. I wonder if there's an easy and effective way to make him a generic Ewok when you have too many multiples. We're still missing pics of the Geonosian Starfighter - hopefully that Geonosian will get a better color. Cody might be replaced, since we've only seen him in the oldest prelim shots. Commander Jet? I doubt so, although we're getting lots of great new figures already. ~ General Magma Edited February 8, 2011 by General Magma Quote
Ai841 Posted February 8, 2011 Posted February 8, 2011 I dislike the Ewok set and the Darthomir (sp?) speeder. The catapult looks kinda shapeless, the ewoks look kinda cheapy, and there's only one Scout Trooper. I would have preferred the old Ewok Attack with that awesome glider. Oh well. The Speeder isn't terrible, I guess, but I don't like Clone Wars sets unless they have lots of characters and ships from the OT. The LAAT Gunship, for example, was great. But I have no attraction to this speeder. But the Falcoln is a beaut. I kinda wish it was based on Episode 6, because I don't have Lando, and I have a lot of those minifigs already from the X-Wing. Although, they are different prints.... anyway, I don't have Old Ben, so I don't care, I still want it. I don't have a Millenum Falcon. That might be my last Star Wars set I buy. Quote
Weakbro Posted February 8, 2011 Posted February 8, 2011 All of these sets look quite interesting, but the only one that really appeals to me is the speeder (mostly because of the figs). The Ewok attack also looks pretty cool, I'll get depending on the price. I don't see anything new about the falcon, it looks pretty much the same. Anyways, I can't wait for more pics! Quote
Stardusty Posted February 8, 2011 Posted February 8, 2011 I think that January wave sets are much better. This sets look really blocky. No offense, but who gives a $@&* who noticed what first? Unless you're providing a picture of something new, noticing things is not worthy of any special recognition. No one is going to search through old posts to see who said what first, because it doesn't matter. How can you consider it something so wrong to be posted. I am starting to think that emoticons have only one use, and that is not to show that you are joking. (this one has nothing to do with joking) Quote
Emperor Posted February 8, 2011 Posted February 8, 2011 (edited) Tomo from imperiumdersteine.de provided this pic: I hope it is okay to post the pic instead of just the link here as there is no preliminary stamp... Edited February 8, 2011 by Emperor Quote
Ritz Brick Posted February 8, 2011 Posted February 8, 2011 thanks Emperor, seems ok to be posted here. This still is making me not want to get the ship. I wonder why in the cartoon the cockpit is on the other side, oh well. and ew...flick fires on a big blocky technic support. Quote
Blackknight112 Posted February 8, 2011 Posted February 8, 2011 The obly set that seems really good seems the podracers Quote
Emperor Posted February 8, 2011 Posted February 8, 2011 (edited) This still is making me not want to get the ship. I wonder why in the cartoon the cockpit is on the other side, oh well. Well, either TLG has seriously failed or it is very preliminary... At least you can't see the flick fires. I hope that you can open the circle section in the middle of the falcon, if not that would be quite some space wasted for nothing. The possibilities to MOD the falcon are endless, though. StoutFiles Posted February 8, 2011 Posted February 8, 2011 Nice find Emperor. The back of the box shows the Falcon from weeks ago, while the Falcon pic a few pages back show the slightly edited Falcon. So some of these features may have been edited as well. Quote
TheBrickHitHouse Posted February 8, 2011 Posted February 8, 2011 (edited) The frigate's figures are great - but it's difficult to accept anything but this is just the red republic cruiser again. The last one had no interior..I imagine Yoda's inclusion is not unrelated to the lack of internal space it will have! All told sets are good but this is the year of the minifig, maybe Lego is relying on the minifigs compensating... Edited February 8, 2011 by TheBrickHitHouse Quote
