DarthSion Posted November 24, 2010 Posted November 24, 2010 The last affordable one was almost 7 years ago and there's a whole new generation of kids that want one. A new MF is like printing money, I'm surprised they held off as long as they did. You mean other than the mid scale one last year Correct me if I am wrong, but they started lego star wars in 1999, so next year will be 12 years, going from BL. 4488 Mini 2003. 4504 Normal 2003. 7190 Normal 2000. 7778 Mid scale 2009. 10179 UCS 2007. Lets forget the UCS who can afford it anyway, with another one next year that's 5 with in 12 years, forget the mini its still one new MF every 3 years, its more ridiculous than people who say redonkulous. Lets face it, the kiddies are not worried with the OT sets, its only going to be AFOL who an or have already got one of the others. Quote
Brickdoctor Posted November 24, 2010 Posted November 24, 2010 I wouldn't just want ROTJ version, I'd like to see all 3 combined versions lol. But then it comes down to which version of figs do you want? All of them, DS playset-style! Quote
Lord Embo Posted November 24, 2010 Posted November 24, 2010 I'm actually quite excited for the Summer wave; I can finally buy myself a cheap and affordable Millenium Falcon and some sets that haven't seen releases for a long time(pods, geo starfighter, ewok attack). Can't wait for pictures. If all of these do turn out to be true, then we will get the following amount of sets for each half of the Saga and,of course, The Clone Wars. Of course, there will obviously stil be some sets that are coming next year that we don't know about(UCSs, for example). Prequel Trilogy: 4 Original Trilogy: 2 The Clone Wars: 12 Total amount of sets: 18 Quite a high amount of sets for TLG to give us I'll admit, but OT fans can no longer feel left out; you're getting at least two sets next year(they may still be more to come). Lord Embo Quote
RileyC Posted November 24, 2010 Posted November 24, 2010 Rumours time! Ewok Attack - I love me some ewoks. It may be a really nice way to get some scout troopers and two or three ewoks. This set does sound really promising and it does continue the Endor streak Lego has been on so I expect to see more Endor sets in 2012! Dathomir Speeder - I have no idea what this is. Im guessing a clone wars set. But I would like to see a reference pic if anyone has one! Millennium Falcon - YES!! Finally I have been waiting for this! I cant believe Lego hasn't done this sooner. I dont really care what kind of context its in (Cloud city, Lando + Tien Numb, EPIV) but I will get it. I hope it has a more detail interior than the last. With new parts it should look amazing! Lord Embo There were 26 sets in 2009 and 23 in 2010 according to Brickset, so I definitely think we'll see another 5 or so sets. Quote
commanderneyo Posted November 24, 2010 Posted November 24, 2010 Oh jesus christ another god damn MF, there is enough of them already, give us something NEW. As for the speeder, a set from a yet air CW episode sounds very unusual to me, I thought they only did sets from the previous season, not the current one. They announced the Clone Turbo Tank (The more recent one) while Season 2 was still going on Quote
ADHO15 Posted November 24, 2010 Posted November 24, 2010 They announced the Clone Turbo Tank (The more recent one) while Season 2 was still going on And all the first Clone Wars sets before the movie and series were released. Quote

It's one of the most iconic (and awesome) ships in the series, PT or OT. I'm pretty sure kids would recognize (and buy) it as well. That said, I still have to agree about the frequency. 5 in 12 years is quite a lot. But still, seeing how it will sell, I'm not that surprised. Anyway, I'm going to take the Summer 2011 rumours with a pinch of salt, no matter how much confirmation we've been getting. Quote

Just as you're not counting the UCS, I'm not counting the Mini or Mid scale. It's been since the 4504 set that there has been a playable MF with minifigs. While this is still more than any set, the Falcon and the X-Wing don't play by the same rules as other OT ships due to their iconic status. Kids will always want one and it's in TLG's best interest to make them always available for purchase, especially if they enjoy making money. Quote
DarthSion Posted November 24, 2010 Posted November 24, 2010 Some how I doubt many kids would buy the MF, I doubt many parents would buy one when there was the mid scale, while AFOL might not see it as playable or whatever kids will. Quote
Alldarker Posted November 24, 2010 Posted November 24, 2010 (...) I dont really care what kind of context its in (Cloud city, Lando + Tien Numb, EPIV) (...) Ogh dear, it's my Star Wars OCD, and no offence meant: but it's either Nien Nunb or Ten Numb. It's a common mistake... Quote
PocasNuckie Posted November 24, 2010 Posted November 24, 2010 For more I would love a MF with Nien Numb, Lando and Ca., I highly doubt that's what we are getting. Definetly something more ESB oriented! And no, I don't have a Falcon!! Except for the Midi-Scale but that one doesn't count! I'm sincerely disapointed with what we acknowledged as Summer Sets so far. MF and Republic Frigate (hoping it's the Pelta) are my only interests. Also looking forward to see a decent Sith Infiltrator, since the previous one's were horrible IMO. The rest is just , meh! Cheers Quote
fff Posted November 24, 2010 Posted November 24, 2010 I wouldnt mind for "another" MF, but i'd expect this one in a couple of years... Cloud City is the one every is waiting for, and in UCS Style would be brutal. Same way i would have preferred the snowspeeder from Wampa larger and enhanced... but... Quote
Gile (SRB) Posted November 24, 2010 Posted November 24, 2010 (edited) From this rumours , seems I am interested in Ewok Attack ,Geonosian Starfighter and "Battle of Geonosis" (or whatever its called ). Ewok Attack cause we will get (probably) Rebel Commandos (nice) Stormtroopers (cool) and Scout Troopers (awesome) . Battle of Geonosis,hmm... Clones? Geonosian Starfighter ... Name sounds tempting. commanderneyo Posted November 24, 2010 Posted November 24, 2010 Guys don't get too excited Jordan just told me, the MF and Dathomir Speeder are not coming out in 2011 if at all according to him But don't worry he said the Ewok Attack is real Quote
Bricks2000 Posted November 24, 2010 Posted November 24, 2010 The Dathomir speeder sounds interesting, bad thing we aren't getting it. The ewok attack sounds good too. Quote

Emperor Posted November 24, 2010 Posted November 24, 2010 (edited) Guys don't get too excited Jordan just told me, the MF and Dathomir Speeder are not coming out in 2011 if at all according to him Then why does the site list them as sets to be released in 2011? I think it is much more probable that Jordan doesn't know about all of the sets; as far as I remember, he didn't say the Frigate or the Infiltrator would be released yet it is almost sure we get those sets. The site gets the lego from TLG, so the only reason to say there will be a MF next june is that they got this information from them; why would they make up a set? E: By the way: What did Jordan tell us what we didn't already knew about? He only repeated what other sites already knew, except for this "Battle of Malastare". Telling us there won't be a MF shows how few things he really knows - unless he finally takes a picture of this AAT&Y.Wing set; I don't think pictures of the other sets are really necessary, as we're already sure they will be released. commanderneyo Posted November 24, 2010 Posted November 24, 2010 Well yes Emporer I said according to him which I think states he has 4 or 5 of the summer sets (Ewok Attack, Battle Of Geonosis, Geonosian Starfighter, AAT and Red Y-Wing and Podracers) as those have been the ones he stated that he knows of. I just think he is wrong about the MF; I trust the site more than I trust Jordan, which is because sofar he hasn't any proof for what he's saying; the only thing that is new is the AAT&Y-Wing set, which still is kind of weird. StoutFiles Posted November 24, 2010 Posted November 24, 2010 Do you think they made the MF up? They have to have a reason to put it on their site. From what I've seen, the info comes from one Bricklink store. It doesn't seem that reliable to me, but I'm new to the game when it comes to leaked information and what's credible. Personally, I don't count any set as 100% until I see physical evidence. Quote
