Alibabo Posted July 24, 2010 Posted July 24, 2010 (edited) Hi here are my new houses... i know not the best creations, but if i have more lego, i would build better . Not in CC standard, about 20x20 studs. Gyros House: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Alibabo/Town/GyrosHouse/img_3959.jpg http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Alibabo/Town/GyrosHouse/img_3962.jpg Corner store: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Alibabo/Town/Cornerhouse/3954b.jpg http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Alibabo/Town/Cornerhouse/img_3950.jpg http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Alibabo/Town/Cornerhouse/img_3946.jpg Just deeplinks yet, not public So? What do the experts say? Edited July 24, 2010 by Alibabo Quote
prateek Posted July 24, 2010 Posted July 24, 2010 Very nice buildings! On the gyro shop, I like the sign you made for the store, and the other one looks really cool too Quote
gotoAndLego Posted July 24, 2010 Posted July 24, 2010 (edited) Don't sell yourself short those are quite nice. On the corner store I would... - On the gyro shop, some raised tiles on the building corners would look great, maybe in tan. Look at the current creator houses for techniques. - Keep the second floor windows all white to match the dark grey arch over them. - An animal fig perched on the dark red jumper would be a great detail. - Raise the yellow 1x4 tile on the first floor with a 1x4 grey plate under it. - Try to keep the same inset with yellow 1x4 on the window next to the garage entrance. - Keep the backing depth the same with all minifigs. - Inset the dormer windows half a stud with jumpers. - Look at how the red curtains were done on Green Grocer (brickset.com has instructions) and add some depth behind the first floor figs by doing a curtain between the figs and the white backing. - A couple of light grey tiles scattered randomly on the sidewalk would be a great detail. ----- If you thought about these things but were missing the pieces you can inexpensively buy the pieces you need from bricklink.com. I find that I do a lot of MOC refining after I have completed what I think is my final build. Just keep at it as these have the potential to be super nice. These don't have to be CC standard, they feel more like the Creator house standard, but come up with your own standard and keep at it. Edited July 24, 2010 by gotoAndLego Quote
BlueBard Posted July 24, 2010 Posted July 24, 2010 Those are brilliant sir, especially if you don't have many bricks! Quote
Fires-storm Posted July 25, 2010 Posted July 25, 2010 Yes, those are truly very nice creations! I believe the one I like best is the corner store, as it shows some very good and well executed techniques. These are very well done in my opinion, keep bricking! Quote
lgorlando Posted July 25, 2010 Posted July 25, 2010 Love the Gyro Shop! The corner building is a great build too. The garage is a nice touch. In my humble opinion, the large dish on the roof is a bit distracting, you could make it a bit smaller (unless that is the concept, like a radio or TV station). Very nice job overall! Quote
lightningtiger Posted July 25, 2010 Posted July 25, 2010 Very nice and creative buildings you have there 'Alibabo' - yes the gyro shop is very nice indeed ! I'm a conformist! ! Quote
Alibabo Posted July 25, 2010 Author Posted July 25, 2010 Many thanks guys and thanks for help too. I know bricklink and brickset too, so ill buy more lego, but not now, because i bouth too much in this month, so my Mam is so angry (i am 15 now). I will make your great ideas all, i have a big lego stock, so I have enough pieces for build. I have got smaller dish, but for example our dish antenna(?) is bigger than me... and i am not a dwarf . I have jumpers too, so i do that window idea too. I have seen that before, but i have never used it.(is its grammar ok? ) Now i work on a third house, that will be brilliant i hope Ops, I didnt make a link from My Australian stuff: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=438583 Do you like it? Fires-storm Posted July 25, 2010 Posted July 25, 2010 I actually did not think the dish was all that distracting, and I can't wait for your next house! Just one thing though, you may want to go view the deep linking tutorial so that your images can be more readily accessed on here Quote
greg3 Posted July 25, 2010 Posted July 25, 2010 Well I'm no expert, but they look great to me!! Love the Kebab shop in the first building (I don't think I'd mess with the staff!!) Nice work! Quote
Vincent Kessels Posted July 25, 2010 Posted July 25, 2010 Nice buildings. I like the Gyro House, especially the grey blinds above the windows. Your other houses also look good. The Sydney Opera House is brilliant. Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted July 26, 2010 Posted July 26, 2010 (edited) I'm no expert in modular buildings, but I must say those are really very good creations. Nice job on these Alibabo. I like the corner store better, love to see the mini adidas shop. I also like the orange signage in the brown house, that's suppose to be a hamburger right? Edited July 26, 2010 by KielDaMan Quote
Alibabo Posted July 26, 2010 Author Posted July 26, 2010 Yes, that would be a hamburger , But i am thinking on rebuilding my brown house... it is too plain for me. But we shall see, sometimes I havent got enough IDEA , not pieces. Quote
