skiizim Posted July 21, 2010 Posted July 21, 2010 Grr, I had it written down, but I never got my paper back when I was getting the set from the back room. If I recall correctly, it ended in -00-0605, but I can't be certain. Thanks, Inconspicuous. All Legos at least recent one's that I've bought all start with 204. Can't wait to go look for this set during the rest of the week. Quote
Delta 38 Posted July 21, 2010 Posted July 21, 2010 Wow, that was quite fast... Well, if I find this set (hopefully an exclusive to Target, or something accessible) I will definitely get it. I love the minifigs, and the ship is okay. The ship is actually bigger than I expected, and contains a good number of seats. Quote
Ras 74 Posted July 21, 2010 Posted July 21, 2010 Thanks for a very good review inconspious I really like the look of this speeder. Great set of figs as well to it. Still can´t understand why they didn´t make a Aurra Sing to go with it though. Quote
Toth Posted July 21, 2010 Posted July 21, 2010 very nice review. This set is a must have for me too. But yeah, 50$ is really too much for such a few pieces. Anyway, I will buy as it is the only way to have cad bane and senate guards without buying priceless sets. Finally, we are all ready to put this price because the minis are essential ones for Star wars collection... Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted July 21, 2010 Posted July 21, 2010 Still can´t understand why they didn´t make a Aurra Sing to go with it though. I think TLG took the easy way out and just 'reused/redesigned' the existing pirate head for Shahan, though it would have been really better if they did Aurra. Quote
fff Posted July 21, 2010 Posted July 21, 2010 Nice Review, I guess if Aurra had been included the price might be justified... Quote
Future74 Posted July 21, 2010 Posted July 21, 2010 Thanks for the review Inconspicuous I have to agree the minifigures are for most of us the main reason for buying this set. And especially the senate commando captain, being exclusive to this set together with Shahan Alama. DSS: The DSS (Dreaded Sticker Sheet for those who don't know) has eight stickers on it, which aren't that bad with the exception of the triangular ones. I strongly dislike stickers that go on the side of wedges. I dislike stickers anyways, but even more so to ones like these. Yes, I prefer printed pieces as do almost all of us. Adding to your comment of triangular ones/wedges are attaching stickers to round parts, which is horrible when/if the glue wears off overtime - but maybe you were reffering to that as well... Quote
KartoffelViking Posted July 21, 2010 Posted July 21, 2010 Great review, and a fantastic parting shot, it totally cracked me up! Quote
-JD- Posted July 21, 2010 Posted July 21, 2010 Super review Inky! I think I'll pick up two of these when they go on sale. Quote
Eurobricks Emperor Bonaparte Posted July 21, 2010 Eurobricks Emperor Posted July 21, 2010 I don't think I have ever seen such clear pictures! You almost have me running to the story and buy one of these... Quote
F.Mulder Posted July 21, 2010 Posted July 21, 2010 thanks for reviewing this set, if it wasn't for the price tag i might buy this set but i can't justify £45. Would love Cad Bane and the senate captain (hoping for magnet set) Quote
OneSnowTrooper Posted July 21, 2010 Posted July 21, 2010 Good review, thnx. Price is a bit high but will prob buy for the minifigs (like everyone prob). Love the last photo! Quote
Darth Yogi Posted July 21, 2010 Posted July 21, 2010 thanks for the great review, this made it look alot cooler than i thought and i am thinking of buying it evam though the high price. great job Quote
DutchRebel Posted July 21, 2010 Posted July 21, 2010 Thanks Inconspicuous for this more than excellent review. Although I'm not a great fan of this set you almost made me buy one!! Good photos, nice lay-out, excellent selection of pix. Well done DR Quote
GIR 3691 Posted July 21, 2010 Posted July 21, 2010 Sorry for the odd lighting and colors- it's dark here right now. Thanks! It's a really interesting piece. I may have to get one and see what sort of minifigs I can come up with. Quote
Bobskink Posted July 21, 2010 Posted July 21, 2010 This set is apealling for the minifigs, but so expensive. I also which Lego made a smaller speeder, somehow it looks more chalenging, and it would blend in a lot easier with other speeders and sets. I also just noticed that the clones which come from a cartoon, are looking less cartoony than the new minifigs, which come from the movie. Quote
Inconspicuous Posted July 21, 2010 Author Posted July 21, 2010 On the box where does it say the parts are made. They're made in Denmark, Hungary, Mexico, and the Czech Republic. All Legos at least recent one's that I've bought all start with 204. Yeah, I think that was it! 204-00-0605. If that doesn't work try 204-00-0506. Well, if I find this set (hopefully an exclusive to Target, or something accessible) I will definitely get it. To my knowledge, this set is a Target exclusive. Still can´t understand why they didn´t make a Aurra Sing to go with it though. I think TLG took the easy way out and just 'reused/redesigned' the existing pirate head for Shahan, though it would have been really better if they did Aurra. What he said. Adding to your comment of triangular ones/wedges are attaching stickers to round parts, which is horrible when/if the glue wears off overtime - but maybe you were reffering to that as well... Hmm, I've never specifically had the problem of wearing glue, I guess I'm lucky. Curved surfaces are just frustrating to me. Great review, and a fantastic parting shot, it totally cracked me up! Love the last photo! Thanks! When I saw that fedora, I knew I had to do something with Indy. I don't think I have ever seen such clear pictures! Why thank you! I also just noticed that the clones which come from a cartoon, are looking less cartoony than the new minifigs, which come from the movie. Can you explain that a little more? I'm exactly sure what you're saying. Thanks for the comments, everyone! Quote
Brickus Posted July 21, 2010 Posted July 21, 2010 They're made in Denmark, Hungary, Mexico, and the Czech Republic. Thanks so much. Quote
Praiter Yed Posted July 21, 2010 Posted July 21, 2010 Thanks for the great review and great photos inconspicuous. I'll probably not buy this (too many other sets to purchase) but really like the Cad Bane figure. Can anyone tell me why this is a "special edition" - is it the exclusivity to 'Target'? Also, if I remember correctly, in this episode Aurra Sing is sniping from opposite the senate building and not actually in the speeder - could explain why she's missing. Makes me think she'll appear in another set though (maybe a new CW version of Slave 1 :-) Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted July 22, 2010 Posted July 22, 2010 Also, if I remember correctly, in this episode Aurra Sing is sniping from opposite the senate building and not actually in the speeder - could explain why she's missing. Makes me think she'll appear in another set though (maybe a new CW version of Slave 1 :-) You're right, but I believe Aurra was in the speeder after they got Zirro, so she could have been in the set instead of Shahah. Hopefully we'll get Aurra soon but not on another Slave I, I mean another Slave I version to get a new bounty hunter? Quote
Flare Posted July 23, 2010 Posted July 23, 2010 Great review man. Thanks for taking the time to do this I am definitely going to get this! Quote
The Legonater Posted July 23, 2010 Posted July 23, 2010 Yes, I prefer printed pieces as do almost all of us. Adding to your comment of triangular ones/wedges are attaching stickers to round parts, which is horrible when/if the glue wears off overtime - but maybe you were reffering to that as well... I actually don't mind most stickers, except the ones that go completely around a piece. Quote
Brickdoctor Posted July 24, 2010 Posted July 24, 2010 I actually don't mind most stickers, except the ones that go completely around a piece. Eh, STAMPs are worse. Quote
squidman85 Posted July 26, 2010 Posted July 26, 2010 Nice review.I think it's my favourite set from Clone Wars. It's very nice designed, but too expensive for the set of this size. Quote
