Display Lego sets

I know we have a pinned topic about storage/sorting lego.. but how about display (even just temporily?)

let's say you have many built cars/trucks/bus (not mentioning Lego has more than enough police/fire vehicles). (

or maybe just a MOC.

it is impossible to put them all into your 'city' layout. so just put them into shelves?

feel I do not have enough shelves.. what shelves are you using? just normal 5-shelves bookcase?

if you have some pictures that would be great..

At the moment I am using my pool table with a sheet over it for my whole Space LEGO display, and I have all my City LEGO crammed onto a board on top of a coffee table. I'd like to eventually build a couple of tables for my displays that are about 2x3metres in size, then I can lay out all my baseplates and sets without it looking too crowded. I'd also like to build a removable clear perspex box that can go over the top of the displays to keep dust and grubby fingers off the LEGO. Some day, eventually, I'll get it done!

Although I keep all my action figures and other collectibles on book shelves, I feel LEGO deserves a much larger display area that can also be used to play on.

I hardly buy any sets for the look of the set, mostly for parts only. But my moc's I keep intact and displayed on some pre-fabricated-3-shelves-molded-in-1-plastic-ikea-shelve. They're really handy and take only 4 screws to hang them up, I've got four of them now.

I have very little on display at any given time. I have enough room for about 64 x 96 studs atop my dresser, which currently shows the four modular buildings I have in an L shape, but I'm going to break that down in favor of a Western town layout. I've also got Emerald Night sitting on a guitar amp and that's about it.

I have some sets and MOCs on top of the chest of drawers that I keep others in. I also have a large wooden board sat atop a steady pile of the large shipping boxes that Lego orders come in (the boxes contain all the boxes for my FF action figures and trading figures) the board holds large WIP and smaller MOCs.

I have some WIPs on top of my wardrobe, and everything else in boxes around the bedroom. I want to buy a table to build a large town MOC, but that will have to wait a couple of months.

Im lucky enough to have a Lego room so we have quite a bit on display usually,its going through a bit of a facelift at the mo however! We have a large town layout thats 4 foot by 6 foot displayed on top of two paste tables,another smaller table has my classic space display and we have four shelving units full aswell.The only downside is keeping it all dust free,ive bought some polythene dustsheets from my local diy store to cover it up with,it works great and saves dusting every day!

Interesting topic idea here! I definitely am running into a similar problem at my house in terms of being able to display my various LEGO sets and MOC's. In our basement, we have our Town/Train layout set up on a series of 30" x 30" tables. This ends up taking up about half the basement.

I also have a small SPACE! layout that I don't have pictures of right now, but it sits on 30" x 30" tables as well and currently is made up of seven of those tables in a U-shape.

Upstairs in the main house, we have a variety of ways of displaying our MOC's. I have some sitting on top of various bookshelves which seems to work out okay. I also have a small table for displaying a single larger set and we rotate the set a couple times a year.

In our reading room, we a table and some other small pieces of furniture that hold various sets for display.

All this being said...I would love to find a better solution and something that allows me to display more MOC's in a less intrusive way than using a table or bookshelf. I would like to see some other community members' wall-mounted display solutions. If they can provide a link or a source for their solution as well, that would be most helpful. I'm guessing IKEA has some cool options...though I've honestly never looked real hard for them. It's getting to the point now where I need to get even more organized...or buy a bigger house.

I don't have enough space to display too many models, as an avid reader lots of shelves are taken up by books, so I'm very selective on what I display.

What I would do to live in house where there was a basement, but they've never seemed to catch on here in the UK Maybe if I can ever afford to build my own house, I'll make sure it has one
