kcebcire Posted July 17, 2010 Posted July 17, 2010 (edited) Beautiful. The little details are my favorite, like the little stairways, i might have to steal the design . Excellent shuttle design as well! Edited July 17, 2010 by kcebcire Quote
Hoboman Posted July 17, 2010 Posted July 17, 2010 (edited) Beautiful. The little details are my favorite, like the little stairways, i might have to steal the design . Excellent shuttle design as well! I agree, the stairs were great. I also liked the dogs in the part where they are clearly searching. Great set-up. Well done. Davey Posted July 17, 2010 Posted July 17, 2010 I dropped some comments on your Flickr Photostream, so I'll keep it short here. Great build, lots of subtle details that draw your eyes in. Lots of good stuff to look at. And a really 'cute' ship. Nice work Shads. -Davey Quote
Stash2Sixx Posted July 18, 2010 Posted July 18, 2010 Awesome build Dave. All of those creative little bits really add to the overall scene, and you have just the right amount. Nice work on the mountain too. Quote
lightningtiger Posted July 18, 2010 Posted July 18, 2010 AWESOME 'Dave Shaddix' - excellent mountain side entrance and mega-detail too ! By the way what are they looking for......drugs, food stuffs....? I'm a conformist! ! Quote
nismogrendel Posted July 18, 2010 Posted July 18, 2010 Very cool, I really like how you sank those square grates down into the floor. Look awesome. The cockpit window is very cool, and I like how you mixed the Star Wars and Space Police minifig pieces. Quote
dr_spock Posted July 19, 2010 Posted July 19, 2010 Excellent work. Lots of nice little details to keep the viewer engaged. Quote
Gordo Posted July 19, 2010 Posted July 19, 2010 I think this is some great work. How much time did it take for you to build this? Quote
Dave Shaddix Posted July 19, 2010 Author Posted July 19, 2010 (edited) I think this is some great work. How much time did it take for you to build this? Excluding the shuttle, about 19 hours. Mostly concurrent. The shuttle took about five hours and was built a few days beforehand. The diorama was built purely as an afterthought to showcase the shuttle. This is my first real attempt at space/sci-fi and I am mostly happy with it. Its a fun genre to build in, I hope it keeps my attention. AWESOME 'Dave Shaddix' - excellent mountain side entrance and mega-detail too ! By the way what are they looking for......drugs, food stuffs....? I'm a conformist! ! Well its Customs, so they are looking for contraband or any clandestine activity. In this case, I used the crate of white flowers as discovered contraband. I was thinking spices, but back story really pisses me off. I prefer to let the viewer read the snapshot in time as he sees it. I think this would have been a better pic as a thumbnail or intro... Cutty Posted July 19, 2010 Posted July 19, 2010 (edited) Looks good on an overall scale. The little Details really vivify the whole scene. Edit: Overlooked some pictures, so took out some request for more standalone pictures of the shuttle. Edited July 19, 2010 by Cutty Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted July 20, 2010 Posted July 20, 2010 Great MOC Dave! Nice design of the shuttle, and I have to agree that the little details make this a fantastic creation. Quote
Apollo Posted July 20, 2010 Posted July 20, 2010 Dave, I really admire this intricate MOC The well-detailed minifigures gives this scene a lot of realism, and the ship is adjacent to what I would picture a "future cargo shuttle". Overall, very well-executed and I think that this is a great success! Beautiful! Quote
Blackicep8ntball Posted July 21, 2010 Posted July 21, 2010 Very cool moc. I too dropped some comments on your flickr, but then I forgot to ask... where is that head from that you use on the guard watching the two illegal "aliens"? Quote
