BrickWild Posted July 16, 2010 Posted July 16, 2010 Opened in 2003, Toy Corner is located at Pelican Plaza in Ridgehaven, South Australia and sells Lego sets as well as parts and accessories. Taken with DSi camera. Quote
-zenn Posted July 16, 2010 Posted July 16, 2010 Nice, it's bigger than the small store I always go to; Perron 4. Quote
JCC1004 Posted July 16, 2010 Posted July 16, 2010 I haven't really looked much but does anyone know if there is a store like this in the States? Particularity around Cincinnati Ohio? Thanks! Theses are wonderful little shops. I hope I can can find one. Best regards, JCC Quote
Big Cam Posted July 16, 2010 Posted July 16, 2010 I am jealous, that toy store looks like it would be great to shop in. I bet they got many many boxes of the collectable minifigs. Quote
ThatGuyWithTheBricks Posted July 16, 2010 Posted July 16, 2010 I'm jealous of you aussies, some of those sets have been discontinued for years! Wish I had somewhere like that that DIDN'T jack up the prices. Quote
prateek Posted July 16, 2010 Posted July 16, 2010 Wow, what a find. I wish there were small Lego shops here. I would apply for a job there right a way! BTW, those park benches and street lights are really overpriced Quote
lightningtiger Posted July 16, 2010 Posted July 16, 2010 Ah, now you know my secret to my creations, that's my spare parts shop I go too at least once a week ! The guy you see at the computer is a friend of mine, his name 'Heath' and a Transformer/Mechwarrior/Lego Trains fan (could say nut but that might be cruel ! ) I'm a conformist! everyone ! Quote
Cammy Posted July 17, 2010 Posted July 17, 2010 This place looks awesome, I'm definitely going to have to visit later this year when I go down to see my parents in Adelaide. Thanks for posting the photos! Quote
Oky Posted July 17, 2010 Posted July 17, 2010 Are you sure that's not the Lego vault? I can see many very old sets on those shelves! Are the prices fair? I saw places like this in my dreams. Must be great walking into a store and being able to buy sets from decades ago... Quote
RileyC Posted July 17, 2010 Posted July 17, 2010 That place is fantastic! Im so jealous that you are able to buy really old sets from there. Do the prices for those sets go up after they have been discontinued? Quote
lightningtiger Posted July 17, 2010 Posted July 17, 2010 That's not a Lego vault it's a real store, I shop there all the time hence my debt problems and they have current sets plus stacks of early 00's back down to mid 90's stuff ! You can buy from them any where in the world, try here.....Toy Corner web site and I'm a conformist! everyone ! Quote

gratefulnat Posted July 17, 2010 Posted July 17, 2010 Wow, I just died and went to heaven (wasn't aware heaven was in Australia... ). What an awesome shop Thanks for sharing. Quote
lightningtiger Posted July 18, 2010 Posted July 18, 2010 How are the prices tho.? Not too bad, usual R.R.P. unless rare sets of course attract a higher price, contact them with what you want and they should be able to tell you how much in your countries currency with freight....yes don't forget the freight costs from Australia (or in the land of Oz)! I'm a conformist! ! Quote

dr_spock Posted July 19, 2010 Posted July 19, 2010 Nice store. We don't see too many little stores like that anymore. Quote
Hewman Posted July 19, 2010 Posted July 19, 2010 Nice store. We don't see too many little stores like that anymore. It was even better a year or two ago, had almost all Harry Potter sets at reasonable prices, the Studios line seemed to have a different set discounted every time I went there. About two years ago I stupidly did a favour for someone on bricklink that wanted a cloud city Boba Fett for his son (and a long sob story about his son) and told him toycorner sold them for $25 AUD and would ship to USA. Then I find out he bought them all purely for re-sale on bricklink. Quote
Whittleberry Posted July 19, 2010 Posted July 19, 2010 I went there last year on the way to a daytrip in Hahndorf. It's such an amazing place! (Toy Corner that is, though Hahndorf is lovely too, even if its German heritage is exploited a bit for the tourists) I pledge to start one in my retirement, some 40 years from now. The shop has way more things for sale than the website shows; complete product lines from about 1996 onwards, plus service baggies and individual parts/baseplates/minifigs. The story goes (from what I heard from the man in the shop) that around 2000 the founder filled a shipping crate full of discounted LEGO in America and then shipped it all over to Adelaide. Hence some of the sets from last century having American style boxes (piece count on front etc.) It was even better a year or two ago, had almost all Harry Potter sets at reasonable prices, the Studios line seemed to have a different set discounted every time I went there. Toy Corner does have things for sale that are reasonably priced compared to Bricklink prices, and people exploiting that just make the store less enjoyable for others. Quote
ThatGuyWithTheBricks Posted July 19, 2010 Posted July 19, 2010 OK, I went on the site, and the prices on sets/parts are ridiculous, but the prices n figs are great! I'll have to keep this in mid for the future. Quote
