CMP Posted July 14, 2010 Posted July 14, 2010 G'day everyone, like I said in a post earlier today....... Not a TRU, but a Toyworld ! Interior shot......still more stock to go in when I buy it - so I guess it's still s W.I.P. ! What do you think ? Comments welcome and I'm a conformist! ! It's funny, I was bored and was looking through old MOCs in this forum, and I saw several of yours. This would fit in well! It just needs some more balls, more stuff on the walls, and a bunch of kids swarming inside like a bunch of angry bees. Quote
lightningtiger Posted July 14, 2010 Author Posted July 14, 2010 (edited) Thanks for comments 'CallMePie' - yeah, I have to get some soccer balls, plus make up some stock for the shelves, oh yeah make shelves as well ! I'm a conformist! ! Edited July 14, 2010 by lightningtiger Quote
Antonio Posted July 14, 2010 Posted July 14, 2010 Fantastic mini store for toys its kinda the toys r'us but a lot better i like the place vvhere the basketball stands ,are the soccer balls going to be separate?Just perfect Quote
lightningtiger Posted July 14, 2010 Author Posted July 14, 2010 Thanks 'Antonio' for your kind comments and yes, the soccer balls will be seperated from the basketballs. Keep an eye out for updates, hopefully tomorrow ! I'm a conformist! ! Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted July 14, 2010 Posted July 14, 2010 That's a nice little toy store lightningtiger, good job! Though I wish it would have been a bit bigger, so that more toys could be displayed (afterall toy stores are really huge). Quote
lightningtiger Posted July 14, 2010 Author Posted July 14, 2010 Thanks 'KielDaMan' for your comments - since another shop is going next to it, then no it won't be any bigger. To prove that toy shops are not always monster stores...... and there are even smaller ones than that like the Norwood Toyworld ! I won't forget the toys . ......I'm a conformist! everyone ! Quote
prateek Posted July 14, 2010 Posted July 14, 2010 MORE TOYS!!! I love this one. The front looks exactly like the reference pic. Quote
lightningtiger Posted July 14, 2010 Author Posted July 14, 2010 Thanks 'prateek' for your kind reply, okay evryone more toys I hear you ! I'm a conformist! ! Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted July 15, 2010 Posted July 15, 2010 Thanks 'KielDaMan' for your comments - since another shop is going next to it, then no it won't be any bigger. To prove that toy shops are not always monster stores...... and there are even smaller ones than that like the Norwood Toyworld ! I won't forget the toys . ......I'm a conformist! everyone ! Oh I see, thanks for clarifying that. If it can't get any wider then maybe 'taller' with a second floor (just like in the ref. pic)? Quote
lightningtiger Posted July 15, 2010 Author Posted July 15, 2010 Thanks for the suggestion 'KielDaMan' - I'll have a good think about a second storey ! Sadly no more updates, tomorrow yes ! I'm a conformist! ! Quote
Lord Arjay Posted July 15, 2010 Posted July 15, 2010 Sadly no more updates, tomorrow yes ! Boo, more toys!!! Anyway, very nice little MOC "lightningtiger" very similar to the referance pic. I like the bright colour scheme you have chosen. Suggestion, maybe you could add a flag on the roof from the picture? Or a crate outside? Quote
Mr. Elijah Timms Posted July 15, 2010 Posted July 15, 2010 So let me get this straight... you guys really do say "G'day" on a regular basis? The store is very quaint and your labels are solid as always. it really seems to follow the basic design of the Toys R Us storefront, but yet feels a bit different. Looks like it'd look great lined up beside the City Corner. Nice work as always. Quote
lightningtiger Posted July 15, 2010 Author Posted July 15, 2010 Thanks 'Lord Arjay' and 'Mr. Elijah Timms' for your kind comments (with a touch of humour !). Now like I said more toys even brick-built ones too ! Also EVERY Aussie does say it from time to time, I beleive it's short for 'Good day' like saying 'good day to you sir/madam' on greeting someone back say a hundred or two hundred years ago. We just shorten it, because......we can ! I'm a conformist! ! Quote
BorgShadow Posted July 16, 2010 Posted July 16, 2010 G'day everyone, like I said in a post earlier today....... Not a TRU, but a Toyworld ! Interior shot......still more stock to go in when I buy it - so I guess it's still s W.I.P. ! What do you think ? Comments welcome and I'm a conformist! ! Awesome Toyworld store mate. It appears that you based your store from LEGO set 7848. If so, I would imagine what the Toyworld truck would look like?! Keep on bricki'n BorgShadow P.S. Is it just me or does the Grand Imporium 'Shpo' logo look like an 'IKEA' store? Quote
lightningtiger Posted July 16, 2010 Author Posted July 16, 2010 As I promised more pictures........ Yes, we now have soccer balls. Yep, toys ! Anyone want a toy dozer ? Which impulse pack do you want too ? Comments welcome and I'm a conformist! ! Quote
lightningtiger Posted July 16, 2010 Author Posted July 16, 2010 Oops how rude of me to forget to thank two people .....thanks to 'Brig. Brick' and 'BorgShadow' for your kind comments. Question to all should I design a chemist or pizza bar to go next to the toy store ? Comments and suggestions are very welcome ! I'm a conformist! ! Quote
lightningtiger Posted July 16, 2010 Author Posted July 16, 2010 While I was in the mood for taking pictures......... Comments welcome and I'm a conformist! ! Quote

A pizza bar would be awesome. Quote
Dan the Brickman Posted July 17, 2010 Posted July 17, 2010 That is a small toy store. But as long as it has Lego, that is all that matters! Quote
lightningtiger Posted July 17, 2010 Author Posted July 17, 2010 Thanks 'CallMePie' and 'Dan The Brickman' for your kind words. The pizza bar might be a Pinky's Pizza bar (a chain very common in country South Australia). Oh, yeah what's a toy shop without any Lego ! I'm a conformist! ! Quote
natelite Posted July 17, 2010 Posted July 17, 2010 Thanks 'KielDaMan' for your comments - since another shop is going next to it, then no it won't be any bigger. lightningtiger Posted July 17, 2010 Author Posted July 17, 2010 Thanks for the comment 'natelite' - that image was from either a Victorian or New South Wales store. I'm a conformist! ! Quote

We just shorten it, because......we can ! Lucky. I can't say G'day without sounding like a prat. Looks great with the toys, you should build a chemist next because I say so. Quote
