My City

[Friction]

Hi all. I am new here so I thought I should show you what I have in the way of Lego. I first like to say that I think the price of the street plates are way to high so I have started to layout a city with roads on an old bit of MDF I had laying around the house. I think I will need a bigger piece however so this design may change in the future. As you can see in the pics I haven't finished drawing the layout.

You'll need to get some 2007 stuff to go with what you have or start MOCing !

Which parts from 2007 do you think would go well? I have quite a few sets that I have on my wish list. Just saving up for them.

Nice collection you got there! I think it would look nicer with lego streets, but unfortunately they're quite expensive.

I agree it would look a lot nicer and less work for me, but AU$15 for 2 plates is a ripoff imo.

Well I would recommend 7993 service station, 7990 cement truck, 7991 rubbish truck, of course 7641 city corner and 7642 garage.

Nice collection of CITY sets, thought I have to agree that they would look even better with the official street/road plates.

BTTW has 7993 servo on their website, I think the cement truck too.

Now a piece of advice, before you upload your photos - down size them in something like MS Paint - use 'Stretch/Skew' to reduce it's size and save under a new name and post that - reduce down to 10% that's what I do.

lightningtiger I use a Windows Image Resizer program with preset sizes. I automatically use 1024x768 when resizing, but will change for this site.

I bought the 7642: Garage yesterday, but having problems placing it somewhere. Will upload photos when I have figured it out. May also be getting 7641: City Corner in a day or 2.

Well I figured I should upload some new pics anyway. I also picked up some road plates from Myer (AU$11.95) so these pics will include those.

1 of my boys got a hold of it and snapped it off. I have a replacement part coming in the mail and should be here next week so I can fix it.

The town definitely looks better with roadplates (although I'm a bigger fan of the older ones with some green).

You've got a great collection of newer sets. I love the air taxi (helicopter) that comes with the limo. I'm looking forward to buying that set.

I have to agree that it definitely looks better with road plates.

The Limo and Helicopter was the first medium size set that I bought. Before that all I had was the Small Car, Sports Car and the Repair Truck. I have only started my collection since the beginning of the year.

I bought City Corner today and will upload pics of it and my completed (for now) layout.

After the purchase of the Airport (3182) and finally having parts arrive for the Sea Plane (3178) as well as the Helicopter (3222) I have updated pics. I do need a bigger table and more road plates to make this city look better as it is getting a little cramped right now.
