Friction Posted July 13, 2010 Posted July 13, 2010 (edited) Hi all. I am new here so I thought I should show you what I have in the way of Lego. I first like to say that I think the price of the street plates are way to high so I have started to layout a city with roads on an old bit of MDF I had laying around the house. I think I will need a bigger piece however so this design may change in the future. As you can see in the pics I haven't finished drawing the layout. Here is what I have so far: 3177: Small Car 3178: Seaplane (Not pictured as it is missing 2 pieces) 3179: Repair Truck 3180: Tank Truck 3181: Passenger Plane 3222: Helicopter and Limousine 4932: Doc & Patient (Not pictured as it is on its way in the mail) 5610: Builder (Not pictured as I have to find the parts to rebuild) 5612: Police Officer 5613: Firefighter 5620: Street Cleaner 7235: Police Motorcycle 7236: Police Car 7241: Fire Car 7635: 4WD with Horse Trailer 7638: Tow Truck 7639: Camper 7642: Garage 7686: Helicopter Transporter 7736: Coast Guard Quad Bike 7741: Police Helicopter 7743: Police Command Centre 7744: Police Headquarters 8398: BBQ Stand 8401: City Mini-Figure Collection 8402: Sports Car I also have the Apple Tree House (5891) from Creator series. These items I am getting for Xmas: 7207: Fire Boat 7208: Fire Station 7213: Off-Road Fire Truck & Fireboat Here's the pics: Edited July 16, 2010 by Friction Quote
lightningtiger Posted July 13, 2010 Posted July 13, 2010 Nice looking city 'Friction' - I like the d-i-y road ways - good one ! You'll need to get some 2007 stuff to go with what you have or start MOCing ! I'm a conformist! ! Quote
Friction Posted July 13, 2010 Author Posted July 13, 2010 Which parts from 2007 do you think would go well? I have quite a few sets that I have on my wish list. Just saving up for them. Quote
Marckeyh Posted July 13, 2010 Posted July 13, 2010 Nice collection you got there! I think it would look nicer with lego streets, but unfortunately they're quite expensive. Quote
Friction Posted July 13, 2010 Author Posted July 13, 2010 I agree it would look a lot nicer and less work for me, but AU$15 for 2 plates is a ripoff imo. Quote
lightningtiger Posted July 13, 2010 Posted July 13, 2010 Well I would recommend 7993 service station, 7990 cement truck, 7991 rubbish truck, of course 7641 city corner and 7642 garage. I'm a conformist! ! Quote
Friction Posted July 13, 2010 Author Posted July 13, 2010 Well I would recommend 7993 service station, 7990 cement truck, 7991 rubbish truck, of course 7641 city corner and 7642 garage. I'm a conformist! ! Yep those are on the wish list. Plus many more. Quote
Tycho McKorley Posted July 13, 2010 Posted July 13, 2010 Great start, but I'd love to see some MOCs thrown in. Quote
prateek Posted July 13, 2010 Posted July 13, 2010 Nice town, but I love the street lines you've got Quote
darbelis12 Posted July 14, 2010 Posted July 14, 2010 (edited) Nice town i like it. ________ purchase ativan, what is adipex Edited July 27, 2010 by darbelis12 Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted July 14, 2010 Posted July 14, 2010 Nice collection of CITY sets, thought I have to agree that they would look even better with the official street/road plates. Quote
WesternOutlaw Posted July 14, 2010 Posted July 14, 2010 Friction: thank you for sharing. Your images are LARGER than our site guidelines of 800x600. Please resize or they will be removed. EDIT 7/15/10: Images have been removed. Quote
lightningtiger Posted July 14, 2010 Posted July 14, 2010 Yep those are on the wish list. Plus many more. BTTW has 7993 servo on their website, I think the cement truck too. Now a piece of advice, before you upload your photos - down size them in something like MS Paint - use 'Stretch/Skew' to reduce it's size and save under a new name and post that - reduce down to 10% that's what I do. I'm a conformist! ! Quote
crossmr Posted July 14, 2010 Posted July 14, 2010 I like it. I just got the street cleaner guy today. I needed someone to drive my dozer! Quote
Friction Posted July 16, 2010 Author Posted July 16, 2010 (edited) Sorry about the image sizes. Will remember for future. lightningtiger I use a Windows Image Resizer program with preset sizes. I automatically use 1024x768 when resizing, but will change for this site. I bought the 7642: Garage yesterday, but having problems placing it somewhere. Will upload photos when I have figured it out. May also be getting 7641: City Corner in a day or 2. --------------------------------- Well I figured I should upload some new pics anyway. I also picked up some road plates from Myer (AU$11.95) so these pics will include those. Edited July 16, 2010 by Friction Quote
lightningtiger Posted July 16, 2010 Posted July 16, 2010 Nice overhead shots 'Friction', but what happen to the blue copter's blades ? I'm a conformist! ! Quote
Friction Posted July 16, 2010 Author Posted July 16, 2010 Thanks. 1 of my boys got a hold of it and snapped it off. I have a replacement part coming in the mail and should be here next week so I can fix it. Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted July 16, 2010 Posted July 16, 2010 Your CITY just got better with the official roadplates. Now you just have to plan the city layout, I would love to see the finished product. Quote
WesternOutlaw Posted July 16, 2010 Posted July 16, 2010 Sorry about the image sizes. Will remember for future. Thanks Friction. Appreciate you resizing your images. The town definitely looks better with roadplates (although I'm a bigger fan of the older ones with some green). You've got a great collection of newer sets. I love the air taxi (helicopter) that comes with the limo. I'm looking forward to buying that set. Quote
Friction Posted July 16, 2010 Author Posted July 16, 2010 I have to agree that it definitely looks better with road plates. The Limo and Helicopter was the first medium size set that I bought. Before that all I had was the Small Car, Sports Car and the Repair Truck. I have only started my collection since the beginning of the year. I bought City Corner today and will upload pics of it and my completed (for now) layout. Quote
Friction Posted July 18, 2010 Author Posted July 18, 2010 As promised here are the updated pics with a revised layout and City Corner added. I've also decided to call my city "Frictionicity". Quote
lightningtiger Posted July 18, 2010 Posted July 18, 2010 Looking good 'Friction' - roadplates do add that professional touch to a town/city though ! Keep on adding.......I'm a conformist! ! Quote
Friction Posted July 27, 2010 Author Posted July 27, 2010 After the purchase of the Airport (3182) and finally having parts arrive for the Sea Plane (3178) as well as the Helicopter (3222) I have updated pics. I do need a bigger table and more road plates to make this city look better as it is getting a little cramped right now. Quote
