ProducePrincess Posted July 10, 2010 Posted July 10, 2010 It's almost entirerly purist except for the cut tubing , i could however have done it without cutting. The robot is based off the black rabbit minifig and has a similar height too. I made two versions of this robot, the earlier one that was a robo hobo and had no feet and this new one that has feet and better picture quality. Enjoy Quote
red-dwarfs-chief-legoer Posted July 11, 2010 Posted July 11, 2010 this is great! its so simple yet so effective, just from looking at it i can tell exactly how is made! you should make diffrent types in diffrent colours Quote
SirWacky Posted July 11, 2010 Posted July 11, 2010 Awesome! I love the classic look! Great job! Quote
ProducePrincess Posted July 11, 2010 Author Posted July 11, 2010 this is great! its so simple yet so effective, just from looking at it i can tell exactly how is made! you should make diffrent types in diffrent colours Tubing only comes in white , silver , and trans blue as far as i know .Well thats the only colours i have at least Knights armour is a little worse because most coloured versions have printing on them. I can however use a photo editing program and just change the colours like that. Thanks Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted July 12, 2010 Posted July 12, 2010 Nice robot, it indeed has the classic feel to it. The cut tubing is a unique and interesting detail. Good job Black Rabbit! Quote
blhc11 Posted July 12, 2010 Posted July 12, 2010 (edited) is it just me or are the feet space men pistols? And observant man ruins yet another mocer's secret, MUAHAHAHAHAH... is it strange that I always think of myself as a vilain? looks nice though, I need to do this soon. EDIT:Darn, not so observant after all, thoose ar normal "pistol" looking pieces, I had forgoten that the space man's gun is chrome, I need to take a better look at these mocs next time, I would steal this from you but I fear my version would ruin it's fame... the Inventor Posted July 12, 2010 Posted July 12, 2010 Great work Black Rabbit, I like your small little robot. It reminds me of Keko from: Jim Spaceborn and The Unknown Galaxy (the robot on the right) How did you created the head? Mind if I used the design, I'm working on quite a bit of retro bots myself, and this one would fit in nicely, maybe with a bit of tweaking. the Inventor Quote
Minifig Lecturer Posted July 12, 2010 Posted July 12, 2010 Ha! That's brilliant! Cut tubing is neat, this is a very cute set, I'm sure very marketable! Quote
LuxorV Posted July 13, 2010 Posted July 13, 2010 Really nice and classy robot design, Black Rabbit. How did you created the head? Black Rabbit will correct me if I'm wrong, but I think he used a pneumatic T bar (with or without the ball) inserted in the hole in the skeleton neck, then the clips with the eyes, and the up-turned neck bracket to make the back of the head.
