Sir Dillon Posted April 2, 2006 Posted April 2, 2006 Hello all, before I get started, I'd like to point out that this ship is heavily inspired by Forcemaster's V-wing/Raptor. So a bunch of credit goes to him. Anyways. This is now my third 'Space' creation posted online ever, and I used a few techniques that are new to me (SNOT, greebling, etc.) some I think turned out ok, some I'm not so sure... Gallery Not much of a backstory on it, but I named it Osprey because I wanted to name it after a bird of prey, and in my bird guide book, the Osprey was described as a 'raptor', Forcemaster's ship being named raptor, I thought it fitting to name it such. Like I said, this is my third space creation, so if you have any comments, criticism, or advice, please don't hesitate to share. :) Thanks, -Dillon BTW, though this may seem like a April Fool's Joke, it really is my creation! ;-) Quote
xenologer Posted April 2, 2006 Posted April 2, 2006 It might be better to credit it as based on BattleStar Galactica's Cylon Raider since thats probably where forcemaster got his reference from.... Quote
Kikuichimonji Posted April 2, 2006 Posted April 2, 2006 That's the first thing I thought as well: Cyclon Raider! I have to say, this is a definite improvement over your previous work. I like the way you used those engine pieces. I know it's a pain to use those right because they only have 3 studs :-/ Does it have landing gear? If not, I'd add some. You have the room for it... I like the greebling and the SNOT turned out quite nicely actually. The color scheme works pretty nice too, even though I still prefer grey + another color ;-) Keep up the good work! Quote
Sir Dillon Posted April 2, 2006 Author Posted April 2, 2006 Thanks for the replies! :-) It might be better to credit it as based on BattleStar Galactica's Cylon Raider That's the first thing I thought as well: Cyclon Raider! Well, I googled Cyclon Raider, and I think that could very well be where Forcemaster got his reference from, but since I had never heard of it untill now, I think it would be a good idea to still give him credit. I have to say, this is a definite improvement over your previous work. Thanks a lot! I like this one more then the others too. Does it have landing gear? If not, I'd add some. You have the room for it... Yep, I put landing gear on it, but never really took any good pictures of it :-$ You can see it a little in this picture. Also, you can see it some on the two pictures of the underside of the ship; the picture is with the landing gear out. The second is with it folded up. I like the greebling and the SNOT turned out quite nicely actually. The color scheme works pretty nice too, even though I still prefer grey + another color Thanks, this is my first time greebling, so I was also pretty pleased with the way it worked out. Well, black is another color, but I know what you mean.... Thanks again for the reply, I appreciate it! :-) BTW, did an Admin edit my post and put the picture in? If so, thanks. :-) Quote
