andythenorth Posted June 25, 2010 Posted June 25, 2010 (edited) 8285 is an awesome set. Modding it about four years ago ended my dark ages, and started a Bricklink addiction which eats all my spare cash :) Flickr gallery here: Mod features: - extra axle, with pneumatic lift - extra cylinders added to engine - moved fuel tanks - cosmetic changes (filled in roof of sleeper bunk for better appearance) - rebuilt rear lift Mod was originally inspired by Grazi's very cool Black Cat Tow Truck. EDIT: added some pictures here. Edited June 25, 2010 by andythenorth Quote
Enilder Posted June 26, 2010 Posted June 26, 2010 seems like you need more support between front axle and second axle. That's a ridiculous amount of bend imo. Quote
DLuders Posted June 26, 2010 Posted June 26, 2010 Whoa! This is one great MOC! It is very magnificent, like the one that Grazi posted on his Brickshelf gallery http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=74562 and which Blakbird rendered. I wouldn't worry about the sagging -- real big rigs flex as their long steel frames go down the road. From the pictures below that you posted on Flickr, are you thinking about making some changes? andythenorth Posted June 29, 2010 Author Posted June 29, 2010 (edited) From the pictures below that you posted on Flickr, are you thinking about making some changes? No, I think this one is 'done' :) I have a lot of MOCS which are 'not done', so I guess I should spend time on those :) This Picker Truck for example needs finishing: Edited June 29, 2010 by andythenorth Quote
